1000 Guineas Betting Guide, Trends & Free Tips

1000 Guineas Betting Guide, Trends & Free Tips – It's English Classic weekend at Newmarket racecourse this April 30th – May 1st as the track prepares for the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas – the first two of the five English Classic of the new 2016 flat turf season. The 1,000 Guineas is for the 3 year-old filles and is often a good guide to the Epsom Oaks that's run the following month.

Here at ThatsBettingTips we give you all the stats and free tips ahead of the 2016 renewal, this year run on Sunday 1st May – hopefully they will help you find the 1,000 Guineas winner and give you a few different betting angles to take into the race.

1,000 Guineas Betting Guide – Just like the 1,000 Guineas the previous day it should pay to keep horses that were placed in the top three last time out on your side, with 13 of the last 14 winners fitting that trend.

10 of the last 14 winners also won last time out, and that is a big trend in favour of both the well-fancied – Minding and Lumiere – who have headed the ante-post betting for much of winter.

Previous Group-winning form is a plus too with 11 of the last 14 winners backing-up that trend, but, unlike the 2,000 Guineas, this race has been a slightly better once for the bookies with 8 of the last 14 winners coming from outside the top 3 in the betting, while 50% of the last 14 winners returned at double-figure odds.

Don’t be too put off if your fancy hasn’t won over a mile yet either as 8 of the last 14 ticked this stat – this is a plus for Lumiere, who has, so far, only won over 6f, while, in contrast, Minding was and easy winner of the Dubai Fillies’ Mile here over course and distance last October so does have winning form over this trip.

So – in short, of the two Guineas races, this is a contest that’s thrown-up the odd shock result despite 3 of the last 14 favourites winning, so don’t be put off if your fancy is one of the bigger-priced runners, with the average winning SP in the last 14 runnings just over 10/1, while the O’Brien team have a far worse record in the race than the 2,000 Guineas with just two winners over the years.
