Aintree betting tips for day 3 for every live Channel 4 race from our expert horse racing tipster.

After two excellent days racing at Aintree, the Grand National is finally upon us. A superb day of action in Liverpool sunshine is set to crowd betting shops as people look to find the winner of the great steeplechase.

Aintree Day 3 Betting Tips

1.30 – Parlous Games.

This looks a solid renewal of the Mersey Novices' Hurdle and I like the look to Parlour Games. John Ferguson's charge was a good winner of the Challow Hurdle at Newbury earlier in the season and ran a bold second in the Neptune at the Cheltenham Festival. Back on a flat track on very decent ground will suit this seven-year-old's flat pedigree and should be too much for the rest to handle.

14.05 – Court Minstrell.

Just six line-up for the Maghull Novices' Chase and Court Minstrell should bounce back to victory. This son of Court Cave looked a very smart prospect early in the season when winning at Newton Abbot and Cheltenham. He was well behind in the Arkle at Cheltenham however back on very good ground on a course which he won at last year gives this eight-year-old sound claims.

14.50 – Zarkandar.

The Liverpool Hurdle is always a strong contest and Zarkandar looks the one to beat. Paul Nicholls' charge looked set to pounce in the World Hurdle before badly hampering a mistake three fences from home however still stayed on well for third. Having been trained to run over three miles this season, this son of Azamour – who won the Aintree Hurdle two years ago – should have the class to make up for his effort at Prestbury Park.

15.25 – Wonderful Charm.

Paul Nicholls has had several of his top-weight runners win in recent weeks and Wonderful Charm can continue that trend. This son of Poliglote has ran in top-class races throughout the season, including a win in a strong Graduation Chase at Newton Abbot. Back up to three miles, this seven-year-old should appreciate the lower class opponents and has the ability to win from the front.

16.10 – The Rainbow Hunter.

The Grand National is never an easy affair which can often spring a big-priced winner. On the prices, The Rainbow Hunter looks a huge price for his history. Kim Bailey's charge has ran in the Aintree marathon twice and was unlikely when hampered and unseated. He's been primed for this race, and, although he ran disappointing at Kempton. That was on ground that did not suit. Back on good ground and with a clear round of jumping, he looks well over-priced for an each-way shout.
