Arsenal v West Brom Betting Tips and Predictions

Looking to cement the final Champions League place, Arsenal host West Brom at The Emirates for Sunday's lunchtime kick off. Tune in to Sky Sports at 13:30 PM and here are some free football betting tips.

Since their lacklustre defeat to Everton, Arsene Wenger appears to have rallied his troops and the fourth and final Champions League place could be sewn up this weekend before they even play. In fairness, Everton appear to have blown their chance rather than The Gunners wrestling it back from them. Nevertheless, even with with a four point buffer, if Roberto Martinez's men can throw a spanner in the works with a win over Manchester City on Saturday, then the pressure will be on the North Londoners to close out the following day.

Pepe Mel's West Brom head down to the capital with an outside chance of relegation looming over them. Whilst it is still a mathematical possibility, you would probably get better odds on Wenger doing a 'Pardew' headbutt than seeing it happen. The Baggies form has been a real mixed bag of late with two wins, draws and losses in their last six. However, it has been their goal scoring, nine in their last five games, that appears to have been their saviour.

With three straight wins under their belt, Arsenal head into the game as 2/7 favourites. With the return of star players Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey, The Gunners are starting to look like the team that lead the league for so long earlier in the season. However, at such a short price it's just not worth backing them. West Brom can be picked up at odds as long as 12/1, and although this looks good on paper, I wouldn't even bet a cabbage on it. At 5/1 with most bookmakers, the draw is even less appealing. Based on their recent performances and goal scoring record, I would expect The Baggies to have their chances so I would be inclined to back and Arsenal win and both teams to score which is available at 19/10 with Coral.

Looking elsewhere in the markets, Mesut Ozil was a deserved man of the match against Newcastle in Arsenal's last game. A bet that could have been backed at 8/1. The German produced a majestic fifteen minutes either side of half time, if he could play like that in every game, he'd be the best player in the league. Even after such a fine performance, Ozil is still available at 7/1 with Betfred. I see a lot of value in this bet, especially considering his excellent record in home games against lower table opposition.

Finally as we head into the goalscoring markets, Sunday's clash is a decent candidate for Betfred's DD/HH promotion. Lukas Podolski has been in excellent form recently and is much better priced than the inconsistent Olivier Giroud. Back him to score first at 4/1 with Betfred and Mikel Arteta to score anytime at 5/1 with the same bookmaker. The feisty Spaniard has penalty kick duties and actually scored two spot kicks in the corresponding fixture last season.
