Aston Villa v Leicester Betting Tips and Preview

Aston Villa v Leicester betting tips and predictions for Sunday’s FA Cup match with a betting preview and expert tips.

Both Aston Villa and Leicester City will be looking to prolong their FA Cup runs with victory on Sunday, and continue to use the competition as a distraction for their poor Premier League campaigns.

Aston Villa v Leicester Preview

Both teams find themselves in the relegation zone, the cost of which led to Villa sacking Paul Lambert this week, leaving first team Coach Scott Marshall and goalkeeping coach Andy Marshall in charge for Sunday’s tie.

The pressure is also mounting on Leicester manager Nigel Pearson, who had appeared to have lost his job last weekend, only for the club to reverse their decision to sack him.

The Foxes showed plenty of resilience in their 2-1 midweek defeat to Arsenal, a game which saw new signing Andrej Kramaric score his first goal for the club. They’ve lost their last four matches in the league, with their last win coming against Villa thanks to a Paul Konchesky strike.

Their Cup form has been much better however, having beaten Premier League opposition in Newcastle and more recently Tottenham, thanks to late goals from Leonardo Ulloa and Jeffrey Schlupp.

Ulloa also netted in the 3rd round win over the Magpies and is our first Aston Villa Leicester betting tip to score anytime at 27/10 with Ladbrokes.

The FA Cup has also brought respite for Aston Villa, who saw off Championship high-flyers Bournemouth in the last round. Their league form however has been abysmal, having only netted 12 times this season. Their last win in the league came over Leicester at the start of December.

Villa have no fresh injury concerns and Scott Sinclair is expected to play after avoiding being cup-tied whilst at Manchester City.

With both teams not being in great form this may not be the most exciting game to watch and a replay at the King Power Stadium in a few weeks’ time could be a possibility.

We don’t expect the game to finish goalless however and our correct score prediction for Aston Villa v Leicester is a 1-1 draw, the best odds are 6/1 with William Hill.

"These sides have had it tough lately and that's why we wouldn't be surprised with a low scoring match, if the game finishes 0-0 you will get selected losing bets refunded if you use Bet365 to bet on our Aston Villa v Leicester tips."

It’s unlikely either side will come out of the blocks flying and for that reason the 2nd half is most likely to be the highest scoring period and is our final football betting tip at 11/10 with Bet365.
