Besiktas don’t start their new season until the end of this month but beat Feyenoord 5-2 on aggregate to get to this stage of the competition, not a result to be shrugged at. Arsenal are a big step up from Feyenoord and with Arsenal so much further along in terms of match fitness with their season just beginning, this could be a big test for the Turkish side.

I fancy Arsenal to get their European campaign off to a good start and a comfortable one too. Considering they beat Fenerbache 3-0 last season, a side who finished 12 points clear of Besiktas, they should have the quality here.
