Bosnia v Iran Betting Tips and Predictions

Bosnia goal.JPG

In the final game of group F Bosnia-Herzegovina Herzegovina meet Iran at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador and we have free World Cup 2014 betting tips.

It will also be the final game at this world cup for Bosnia as they have not done enough to progress from the group as successive defeats against Argentina and Nigeria have made sure that won’t happen. Iran still have a very slim chance if they win and the other group result goes their way.

Bosnia-Herzegovina are available at 6/5 with Bet365 to win, the draw is 5/2 with Bet365 and Iran are 13/5 to win with Ladbrookes.

Bosnia-Herzegovina were impressive against Argentina and deserved to get more than they did out of the game, the same could be said of the game against Nigeria, where they were controversially denied a goal for offside when it wasn’t. They will be keen to get a win to put some gloss on their debut World Cup appearance.

Iran have defeneded solidly throughout the tournament, Nigeria failed to break them down and had it not been for a Messi wonder strike minutes from time they would have got a point, which their performance merited. Against Argentina they were wasteful going forward but proved a handful from set pieces on a number of occasions. Their best chances fell to Charlton striker Reza Ghoochannejhad, who was denied by an in form Sergio Romero.

It’s hard to predict what will happen given that both teams have nothing to lose, I can’t see Iran breaking from their game plan, which has served them well so far. They will defend and attempt to hit Bosnia-Herzegovina on the counter attack. Much like in their previous games it will be a matter of whether or not their opponents have that bit of craft to break through a well organised and drilled defence.

Whilst Bosnia-Herzegovina don’t possess the vast talents of Lionel Messi, Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko has proved he is a clinical finisher and will be desperate to get a World Cup goal to his name. His strike partner, Vedad Ibisevic, has already scored against Argentina and will be looking to add to his tally. I think Bosnia-Herzegovina may play a more direct game than Argentina did, the aerial prowess of Dezeko and Ibisevic should cause them problems, they looked troubled from set pieces against Argentina.

If Iran do decide to attack that will play into the hands of Bosnia-Herzegovina and make for a much more entertaining game, unfortunately I don’t think that’ll happen. Given how resolute Iran have been defensively, there has only been one goal in the two games they’ve featured in at the world cup, I can’t see this one being a goal fest. So for our first betting tip we’ll take under 1.5 goals, which is available at 12/5 with Coral.

In a similar vein, our second betting tip is for both teams not to score, which is available at evens with William Hill. Our final tip is for Bosnia-Herzegovina to win, I think they should just edge it, you can get odds of 6/5 for that, or Bosnia-Herzegovina to win by 1 goal is 31/10 with Ladbrookes which is tempting.
