West Ham v Newcastle 4/6:
West Ham will be having a temporary smile on their hammers after a vital away victory against relegation battlers, Cardiff City. This match also saw Andy Carroll arrive back from injury, and a 2-0 score line to polish off the performance. Those three points has put West Ham just above the drop zone on goal difference. Newcastle will travel to Upton Park also suffering with a dip of form. Newcastle have dropped to 8th and are without a win in four games, suffering narrow defeats against Arsenal, Cardiff and West Brom. Newcastle will see this as a vital opportunity to get back into form and continue their fight for the European places, but West Ham will be full of confidence after their last footballing action.
Burnley V Sheffield Wednesday 10/11:
Both of these teams have been fighting at the opposite end of the Sky Bet Championship, but they hold a similarity in front of goal. During their five previous games, goals have been scored at either end for both of these teams. Most recently, Sheffield Wednesday look more dominant in front of the goal, by putting six past Leeds and four past Macclesfield Town in the FA Cup. Burnley managed to put three past Southampton in the FA Cup and two past Yeovil away from home. A match that is certain to produce goalmouth action, but goals will be needed for their objectives to be achieved. Burnley want promotion and the Owls will want to avoid falling off the Sky Bet Championship tree and onto the League One floor.
Reading v Bolton 8/11:
Two ex Premiership clubs come face to face with Reading only one point off the play off positions and Bolton only holding a six-point gap over the drop zone. Reading will have to take advantage of their home form and produce maximum points if they wish to return to the top flight, but Bolton cannot be looked as no pushovers. Bolton have scored in all of their five previous encounters, including an impressive away display against Middlesbrough. Reading on the other hand have recently started their promotion motor again, beating Watford away from home. Before the match up against the Hornets, Reading had lost three and drawn one. This match could go either way because of the form these two teams display.
Bristol City v MK Dons 13/20:
Bristol City are in desperate need of points as they sit in the relegation swamp with three points behind safety in 25th position. Their home record has been impressive during their last five games, drawing to Watford and beating Stevenage and Walsall comfortably. MK Dons will be their opponents and promotion ambitions are still alight with the Milton Keynes side only six points off the play off positions. Their best away result of the season arrived in early January drawing to Wigan 3-3. MK Dons will be hoping to bring this flair to Bristol.
Walsall v Brentford 4/5:
Walsall have arrived in the play off positions after securing eight points in their last five games and their last two games have also been proven dominant with a 1-0 win against Oldham and a 2-1 victory against Sheffield Utd. Goals have also arrived for the Saddlers in their last four games, meaning a more deadly siege towards the top is sure to follow. However, Brentford who are top of the league will travel to the Black Country with hope of extending their lead at the top and boosting their run of games to six straight victories. The Bees have been on a superb winning formula, defeating the likes of Port Vale and MK Dons at home, and then defeating promotion hopefuls, Peterborough away from home and demolishing Preston. A tasty encounter indeed for two teams that have a thirst for goals.
