Sheffield Wednesday v Birmingham

Wednesday bounced back from a poor run of form with a thumping 4-1 victory over Wolves on Saturday. Ricardo Carvalhal's side have seen their last three matches go over 2.5 goals and they have scored and conceded in each of them. In fact just one of their last six matches would have failed to land BTTS and that was the 0-0 draw with Derby County. Derby barely concede and they held Wednesday to a goalless scoreline. Sheffield Wednesday have only failed to score four times all season, twice away from home and they have plenty of goals in them with Fernando Forestieri weaving magic in the final third. Birmingham have scored and conceded in three of their last four away matches, the exception being the 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough are on a run of six clean sheets and have already kept 12 shutouts this season, so the Blues cannot take responsibility for their failure to score in that particular game. Only Middlesbrough and Hull have kept Birmingham off the scoresheet away from home this season and they should find a way through at Hillsborough.

Swindon v Gillingham

Swindon have been much improved under Martin Ling since the former Torquay man too over and they've won their last three home matches by the scoreline 2-1. Rochdale, Walsall and Scunthorpe have all been on the wrong end of that scoreline when visiting the County Ground. The last time Swindon failed to score here was on the 19th of September against Burton Albion. Somewhat surprisngly Swindon have been keeping clean sheets away from home, but in their last two home matches, they haven't been able to keep the opposition out. Today's visitors are Gillingham, who are having a tremendous season and come here off the back of a 3-0 win against Burton. It was a rare clean sheet on the road for Justin Edinburgh's side, but they were helped by the fact that Millwall's goalkeeper was dismissed in the 1st half. Gillingham have only failed to score once on the road and that was back in September against Barnsley. They have the prolific Dominic Samuel, on loan from Reading and he netted twice against Millwall.

Colchester v Southend

Poor old Colchester just cannot keep teams out. They've now lost seven in a row and have been shipping goals left, right and centre. Up the other end, they have plenty of firepower, but they have a soft underbelly that has given away so many points. Both teams have scored in all of their last six matches, conceding 21 in that time. Kevin Keen has a big job on his hands as new manager. But its a defensive coach they could do with. Southend come here off the back of a 4-1 victory at Roots Hall against Bury and they have been scoring on the road as well. They have Noel Hunt back in the side after missing 12 games through injury. Southend beat Oldham 5-2 in their last trip away and they've only failed to score three times on the road all season. The last of those was on the 20th of October. They've scored eight goals in their last three away matches and will probably fill their boots here. Colchester aren't bad in the final third, they do have goals in them with the creative Callum Harriott and the experience Marvin Sordell the likley perpatrators.

Barnet v Newport

This match should contain plenty of goals as Newport have started scoring plenty of goals since John Sheridan took over at Rodney Parade. They've now only lost once since the 20th of October, considering the poor start they had, that is some turnaround. Their last four away results read – 4-3, 1-1, 2-2 and 1-4. They've only failed to score once in their last nine games and they should be able to find their way to goal at the Hive. All of Barnet's last four matches have featured both sides scoring, netting four times against Crawley just last weekend. They also lost 1-3 to Mansfield in their previous home match. Martin Allen's haven't been short of goals this season and now with Aaron McLean amongst their squad, they had added firepower and experience.

Crawley v Stevenage

Crawley have improved under Mark Yates and the manager admitted recently, he's got his side firing, but they're still looking for defensive reinforcements. They've lost three of their last four matches but have scored in each of them. They haven't failed to score since the 26th of September, which is very impressive. They've also only kept one clean sheet in that time. Rhys Murphy has been finding his shooting boots for the Sussex side. Stevenage are another side who have improved considerably under Teddy Sheringham after a less than confident start to the season. All of their last four matches have contained both sides scoring and it could and should happen again here. They've scored twice in each of their last three away matches and haven't failed to net away from home since the 26th of September. This one should also contain goals.
