Zenit v Lyon – Both Teams to Score? Yes

Zenit have been shaky at the back throughout the season and with AVB already leaving at the end of the season, it seems like the Portuguese coach will not be patient enough to sort out a solution. The former Chelsea boss has been exasperated with the Russian Premier and the Russian FA, but there is absolutely no doubt, his team have the quality going forward. With Hulk and Danny and the recent form of Dzyuba, they have goals galore and look likely to score in front of their home fans here. They face Ligue 1 side Lyon here, who have scored in all of their last 5 games, including their last 5 on the road. They're in decent form and they can take advantage of Zenit's generous defending. 

 

Valencia v Gent – Valencia win 

This one is a short price because Gent are the minnows of the group, but they have been in unbeatable form in the Belgian top tier. They had to come from behind of Friday night against Mouscron Peruwelz, but they face a much stiffer challenge here. Valencia don't score many, but they keep a tight backline too and they won their last game 1-0 against Lyon. I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar score here. Valencia sit 8th in La Liga and will be without Albert Negredo here, but they should still have enough to win. They're undefeated here and domestically have collected 67% of their points at home. They've also scored 71% of their goals in front of their own fans. Gent play in a weaker league so although their form looks good on paper, this may just be a step up too many. 

 

Porto v Maccabi Tel Aviv – Porto -2 Handicap 

Porto are insatiable at home and they face the outsiders of the group here in the shape of Maccabi Tel Aviv. Porto have won 13 of their last 14 games in this competition and they are expected to continue their streak here. They are incredibly short to win and therefore it's best to take them on the handicap. Tel Aviv have conceded 6 in their last couple of games in the UCL. They shipped 4 to out-of-form Chelsea and then were defeated 0-2 by Dynamo Kiev. Former Watford manager Slavisa Jokanovic is in charge of Tel Aviv and he is expected to deploy a defensive set up to try and stem the flow of goals, but it might not be enough here and despite the absence of Maicon, I would expect Porto to score at least 3. 

 

Bayer Leverkusen v Roma – Both Teams to Score? Yes 

Bayer Leverkusen have scored 5 goals in their opening 2 Champions League games, putting 4 past BATE, but still managing to concede to the Belarussians. They were edged out 2-1 by the holders at the Nou Camp, which wasn't a bad result and in their third game tonight they host Italians – Roma. Roma held Barcelona to 1-1 draw, so with both sides netting against the holders, that is surely a good omen for some goals here. Both sides have scored in all of Roma's last 5 games and in 7 of their last 8. They are outscoring their opponents and with 3 of Leverkusen's last UCL games all going over 2.5, this one should see goalmouth action.
