Chanel 4 Racing Betting Tips on Friday

Channel 4 betting tips for Friday’s racing coverage from Newmarket and York.

1.40 Newmarket

A tricky opener where Wedding Ring will find this easier than the company she has been keeping of late although she hasn't looked at her best since Meydan.  Etaab is interesting despite stepping down from a mile, the trip over which she was successful at Yarmouth.  PROVENANCE (9/2 Coral) made a taking debut beating the now 77 rated Award.  She was disappointing at Sandown but the step down in trip will help and she looks very fairly weighted.

2.10 Newmarket

Andre Fabre has won with 33% of the few horses he sends over in the past five years so HIGH CELEBRITY (4/5 William Hill) looks the one to beat following a smart debut win at Chantilly.  Arabian Queen should appreciate the step-up in trip and rates the main danger ahead of I Am Beautiful who is progressive.

2.20 York

Ladies Are Forever won this race last year having also landed this contest in 2011.  She has returned in good heart this season and should put up a bold bid for a third win.  JOYEUSE (9/2 bet365) stands out among the three year olds, she has done well now back sprinting and should be up to making the most of her weight receipt providing there is enough juice in the ground.

2.40 Newmarket

Sky Lantern fans will be hoping that the 5lb pull at the weights will be enough to turn around the five length beating she suffered at the hands of INTEGRAL (13/8 SkyBet) at Ascot.  That was also her seasonal debut so she should certainly improve but it may not be enough to turn the form round.  Rizeena is a clear third best but she is 0/4 at HQ and trainer Clive Brittain has said that he doesn't feel the tracks undulations suit his star filly.

3.15 Newmarket

A very open finish to the coverage with half the field re-opposing from a York contest last month.  See The Sun proved victorious on that occasion, digging deep to repel all that was thrown at him.  CHARLES MOLSON (11/1 Coral) was well beaten in that race but was a bit stuck out on the wing from the lowest draw and this stiffer track will suit him better.

Of those who didn't run in that York contest, High On Life has done everything asked of him and has climbed up the handicap.  This is much tougher but he is a sprinter in great form.  If the form of REMEMBER (18/1 bet365) and his win over Hoodna last time is taken at face value a 4lb rise is lenient.  She has already won twice on the July course and a third could be forthcoming.
