The first contest on the card is sure to be fast and furious with more than a few habitual front runners.  With that in mind it's probably worth looking for something just in behind the pace to get a nice tow into the contest such as GOLDREAM (9/1 William Hill).  Robert Cowell is a master with sprinters and this son of Oasis Dream looks to be still improving and, with a high cruising speed, he gets the vote.  Move In Time and Peterkin may form the strongest opposition.

2.30 York

JAMAICA (11/4 Coral) went into the notebook on his debut and he justified that initial impression in style last time.  Basateen was another impressive winner on his latest start, bolting up in a maiden by eight lengths.  Growl won nicely on his debut and, with most of Brian Meehan's inmates improving for their first runs, he is another to consider.

3.05 York

KINGSTON HILL (6/4 Betfred) has plenty in hand of these on official ratings and as such he should be very tough to beat as long as there is sufficient juice in the ground for him.  Snow Sky and Hartnell have been steadily improving this season and look likely to give the selection the most to think about.

3.40 York

AUSTRALIA (8/13 Betfred) looks to have a solid opportunity to notch up a third successive Group 1 although his price is short enough for those who aren't big hitters.  He should still have improvement left in him and should prevail despite the warnings from connections.  Not much between Telescope and Mukhadram on their latest run in the King George but, the drop back in trip should suit the latter more and he is considered the biggest danger.
