2.35 Newmarket

Our first bet comes in the Royal Lodge, a Group 2 contest for two-year-olds over 1m, a race which tends to produce a high class winner.  There are plenty of interesting horses who line up but the highest rated of them, NAFAQA (6/4 Coral), looks to be a worthy favourite.  The Sir Percy colt won a good race at Newbury before beating Toocoolforschool at Doncaster, a horse who subsequently went on to win the Mill Reef Stakes by seven lengths.  On that piece of form he should be more than good enough to win this prize but there are some improving types of which Elm Park looks to be the biggest danger.

3.10 Newmarket

The next selection in our accumulator tip is TIGGY WIGGY (11/10 William Hill), a horse who has given this article a number of winners.  She is quickly becoming one of the best fillies in the UK and last time she got the better of Cursory Glance who went on to win the Group 1 Moyglare Stakes in Ireland last time out.  The form show has shown is clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the field and she should prove difficult to beat.  Anthem Alexander has a bit to do to get the better of the selection but has beaten her before and will offer the biggest resistance. 

3.50 Newmarket

We finish with the 35 runner Cambridgeshire Handicap, a race which always offers a difficult task when trying to find the winner.  Whilst any number of runners look to have solid chances, I feel that William Haggas has been keeping HOMAGE (25/1 bet365) tucked away waiting for this race.  He’s very lightly raced and is likely to have improved for his previous two runs this season.  There are a lot of exposed types in the race but likewise there are plenty of unexposed, progressive types with the likes of Cornrow, Extremity and Velox worthy of plenty of respect.
