It is King George Stakes Day at Ascot and Channel 4 Racing will be covering 7 races on a high class day of action. Here we take a look at the live races and provide some best betting tips for the day.

2.05 – Princess Margaret Juddmonte Stakes (Group 3) 6f

E/W Selection: LOVE IN THE DESERT 20/1 with Ladbrokes

Love In The Desert was beaten by Fig Roll on her latest start in the Empress Stakes at Newmarket and also finished 2L behind Wind Fire on debut. It won’t be easy to reverse that form but she looks a progressive type who looked ready for a step up to 7f last time out; the stiff finish here should suit her. From the same family as four time Group 1 winner Dubai Millenium and Champion sprinter Elnadim, she has plenty of American influences in her pedigree so fast ground would likely suit her; could get closer to those rival’s this time around as she is improving with every run.

2.20 – Sky Bet Home Of The Price Boost Handicap (Class 2) 7f

E/W Selection: SIRIUS PROSPECT @ 14/1 with Betfred

Quirky but talented individual who has struggled to get his head in front of late. Losing streak now goes back to November 2011 but he has run some respectable races in Group company. This race is the first time he drops into a handicap since he finished third at this track last October. Now 5 years old, he runs as if 7f may well suit him and in a race where plenty have questions to answer he can be chanced to put his best foot forward at a good price.

2.40 – Deloitte Handicap (Class 2) 1m

E/W Selection: BUTTERFLY MCQUEEN @ 10/1 with William Hill

Lightly raced filly who bolted up in a small field over course and distance last time out. Hard to quantify that result but was visually impressive and could easily be more to come on just her sixth start. This race is much tougher but she shouldn’t be underestimated especially if any of the forecast rain arrives, with her ability of both fast and slow ground already proven.

2.55 – Sky Bet York Stakes (Group 2) 1m2f88y

Selection: MUKHADRAM @ 8/13 with Betfred

Likely to go off a short priced favourite and judged on recent performances he is likely to be very tough to beat. He has run two great races on his last two starts to place in Group 1 company behind Al Kazeem. That form much the best on offer and a similar front running performance will see him very hard to pass.

3.15 – Cash Out Multiples Only On Betfair International Stakes (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) 7f

E/W Selection: REDVERS @ 12/1 with Sky Bet

The selection has been running well in these types of races this season with placed efforts in the Victoria and Bunbury Cup. He has shaped well on two starts over course and distance this term and also has a win here earlier in his career. Richard Hughes is booked which given his smooth running style should be a positive and if produced a little earlier in the race he should be running on into a challenging position at the end of the race.

3.30 – Sky Bet Dash (Handicap) (Class 2) 1m2f88y

E/W Selection: MISSISSIPPI 14/1 with Ladbrokes

A consistent handicapper who has bee running well of late including last time out when involved in a bunch finish with several of these rivals. A few pounds better off here and was perhaps a touch unfavoured by the way the race developed last time out. He did not get much cover and met some trouble in running but travelled well and looks to have a fair chance of reversing form with those rivals. He is going to need everything to drop right for him but remains unexposed and he is in good heart at present.

3.50 – King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (British Champion Series) (Group 1) 1m4f

E/W Selection: EKTIHAAM @ 10/1 with Ladbrokes

EKTIHAAM has shown a much improved level of form this year. He chased home subsequent three-time Group 1 winner Al Kazeem at the start of the season before bolting up in a Listed contest over this course and distance. He looked to be going well in the Hardwicke Stakes at the Royal meeting on his most recent start before he unfortunately slipped on the bend; Thomas Chippendale (whom Ektihaam had beaten by 6L on his previous start) went on to win the race. He has suffered a small setback since then which caused him to miss the Princess Of Wales’s Stakes but he could turn up in this race for which he could be slightly overpriced. It is impossible to know whether he would have won the Hardwicke Stakes but he would surely be a shorter price for this if he had run well that day. He acts at the track and there is every chance looking at the possible runners that he may get an easy lead which would suit him; Universal is likely to want to lead too however when they both ran in the Hardwicke it was Ektihaam who got to the front. Looks to have a solid each-way chance if all is well after his mishap.
