Horse racing betting tips for each race on Channel 4 on Saturday.
It's York and Newmarket this Saturday on Channel 4 with the second half of the 'Autumn Double’ – the Cesarewitch the feature contest.
This is much easier than the races LILY RULES (12/1 William Hill) has been contesting of late. She finished second in a Group 3 over C&D in May on soft ground and she looks overpriced. Lacan was disappointing at Newmarket last time but has good form on soft and may prove the main danger.
The clear standard is set by FUTURE EMPIRE (11/4 Coral) on his second in the Solario Stakes at Sandown. The winner of that race ran a corker in the Grand Criterium last weekend to frank the form handsomely. Order Of St George is an interesting and has to be respected.
Both Sudden Wonder and First Flight are worth considering taking on their elders but EDUCATE (8/1 Ladbrokes) looks like he is starting to run into form. He ran really well over C&D in the John Smiths Cup in July off a higher mark and has talented young claimer, Ahmad Al Subousi, taking off a further 7lbs.
Massive field for an ordinary Listed race where Provenance is likely to be popular although she has to prove herself over the trip. A tentative pick however goes to MARSH DAISY (12/1 Ladbrokes). She has been running against a better class of opposition and looks a spot of value.
BOND’S GIRL (4/1 bet365) showed improved form winning a big sales race at Doncaster last time, she also has solid form on soft ground. Charming Thought and Fanciful Angel have the best form on offer but both have a little to prove facing soft ground for the first time.
The step back down in trip may well bring out the best in Connecticut, who struggled to get home in the Melrose last time out. BATTERSEA (7/1 Betfred) did well to win so comfortably from a car park draw at Ascot when last we saw him and a 10lb rise might yet underestimate him. Rewaaya and Flag War are both unexposed and look likely to play a part at the finish.
Aetna goes really well on soft ground and has looked progressive all season. She is short enough for a competitive handicap but deserves her place at the head of the market. Both Mass Rally & REX IMPERATOR (33/1 Coral) are starting to look dangerously handicapped and a chance is taken on the latter at a massive each-way price to bounce back to form here.
Quick Jack was impressive at the Galway festival and trainer Tony Martin is always respected, however there are slight stamina doubts. BIG EASY (10/1 bet365) was a shade unlucky over C&D last time, he was well beaten in this race last year but that was from a shocking draw and there might still be some improvement to come. TEAK (22/1 Coral) has found a new lease of life this year and he might well be capable of getting himself into the places once again.
