Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Betting Tip

I really try to avoid the short priced ones if I can but Willie Mullins seems pretty convinced DOUVAN (2/1 Ladbrokes) is probably the best horse he has ever trained. His two wins to date haven’t really brought out the best in him and, although Nicky Hendersons’ runner L’Ami Serge is a Grade 1 winner, I expect the jolly to come out on top.

I was lucky enough to talk in person to trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies pre-Festival and he feels that THE NEW ONE (NAP) (4/1 Ladbrokes) has been largely forgotten amid the hype over Faugheen. A fascinating tactical race is in prospect with the favourite likely to try and wind things up from a long way out and Sam Twiston-Davies sat behind waiting to unleash his burst of speed when the time is right. At the odds he looks to be the value call.

Its probably expecting too much for a Twiston-Davies stable double but they do like the chances of COGRY (16/1 Ladbrokes) and booked the services of top amateur Steve Clements way in advance. Only a six-year-old, this horse appears to stay for ever having bravely held off Doing Fine at Warwick over three and a quarter miles last time out, and with perhaps the best jockey in the saddle, seems overpriced.
