Mares Hurdle betting tips Cheltenham 2015

Willie Mullins has been talking to Betfred TV about Annie Power at the 2015 Cheltenham Festival and it looks like she will be going for the Mares’ Hurdle on Tuesday 10th March 2015.

There has been some uncertainty surrounding which race Annie Power will run in at the Cheltenham Festival but trainer Willie Mullins went some way to confirming that she will be running in the Mares Hurdle as opposed to the World Hurdle on the Thursday.

Talking to Betfred TV Willie Mullins said “I’ve been training her for the Mares Hurdle, she’s done everything right since New Year.”

Mullins continues to say they were going for the Mares because of her set back at the end of 2014 and despite not totally ruling out the World Hurdle, it now seems almost certain that Annie Power’s 2015 Cheltenham race has been decided.

Patrick Mullins went on to say that going straight to Cheltenham was not ideal but Quevega did it and Annie Power is a horse that didn’t need too much work – which is a positive sign given the length of her layout due to a setback.

Annie Power has only lost once in 12 races and her only defeat, in the World Hurdle last year, may well have just stretched her stamina. Back over the shorter trip for the Mares Hurdle should suit her better and we cannot see past her as our Cheltenham day 1 expert betting tip for the Mares Hurdle.

If she does go for the Mares Hurdle it is incredibly difficult to see her getting any bigger in the market therefore we recommend betting on Annie Power to win the Mares Hurdle as soon as possible. At the time of writing the best odds available for this are 4/5 at Betway.

The odds elsewhere for Annie Power are 4/6 and shorter. Some bookies are incredibly short in the betting, Bet365 are 4/9, Sky Bet 8/15 and the majority of bookmaker including Ladbrokes, Paddy Power and Coral are 4/7.
