Ante-post handicap betting tips for Day 3 of the Cheltenham Festival
Past the halfway mark of the Festival on Thursday so it's a chance to play up those winnings or try to claw back the losses in the ultra competitive handicaps on offer on Day 3.
Handicap Betting Tips Cheltenham Festival
Always one of the trickiest handicaps of the season with runners only needing to finish in the first eight in a qualifier to secure their place. This does lead to a great deal of guess work about who has been hiding their light under a bushel but, when it comes to handicap plots, few are better than Tony Martin. His runner EDEYMI (E/W) (14/1 Ladbrokes) has a few engagements at the Festival but has run in two qualifiers, failing to make the cut yet having travelled to Musselburgh for a second bite of the cherry to ensure getting in. He already has a big handicap run at the Festival to his credit when runner-up in the Fred Winter two seasons ago and, from a lower mark, now looks ripe for this contest.
Kim Muir Challenge Cup
SUPER DUTY (E/W) (33/1 William Hill) has had his problems in recent years but is lightly raced and still unexposed for one of his age. He finished runner-up in this contest two years ago off a similar mark and was fully entitled to need his return from a long absence when last seen. That effort should have put him as straight as last year when he showed a massive improvement from his first run of the season to his second. A similar story this time around will put him right in the firing line of a tricky contest.
