Cheltenham Festival E/W Treble Betting Tips

First up is the Neptune Novices' Hurdle, which despite being over 2m5f, is almost always won by speed horses.  High-class stayers are regularly defeated at short odds, and the key is to identify pacey types that are likely to prosper in the conditions.  Horses from the Flat also have a poor record in this contest.  The one that has the right profile is OUTLANDER (6/1 Paddy Power), who has looked really classy in all three of his hurdle starts this season.  Last time out he was particularly impressive, winning a 2m4f Grade 2 at Leopardstown, and he's strongly fancied to quicken away from his rivals at the business end.

The middle leg of the treble comes from the Triumph Hurdle, a race which has been claimed by contestants of the Grade 1 Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown for the last three years.  KALKIR (20/1 Paddy Power), who has shown very strong form in the aforementioned Grade 1 looks very likely to improve for the stronger pace and stiffer test at Cheltenham.  Trained by Willie Mullins and likely to be ridden by Ruby Walsh, he looks overpriced.

The final leg is the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle, where the horses at the top of the market look opposable.  Black Hercules and No More Heroes are both passed over and, although Martello Tower is hugely respected, the verdict goes to Nicky Henderson's VYTA DU ROC (12/1 Paddy Power).  This horse looks to be crying out for the step up to 3m and has solid form to his name having finished second in the Grade 1 Challow and having won a Grade 2 at Sandown in December.
