United saw off Dumbarton 3-2 in The League Cup, whilst Celtic scored a dramatic winner at Parkhead to beat Shakhter Karagandy 3-0, giving themselves a 3-2 on aggregate win in their Champions League play-off round.

The home side recorded their first victory in the league last weekend by thumping local neighbours St Johnstone 4-0 at Tannadice, with Jackie McNamara's side having taken five points from their opening four games in the Scottish Premiership. Attacking midfielder Stuart Armstrong has scored in his last two league games, and the Scotland u21 international could prove to be a decent bet to score in this game.
