Roma to beat Chievo 1/3:

Roma will feel very hard done by after losing to Serie A rivals Juventus on the 5th October before the international break. Juventus destroyed Roma’s unbeaten start to the league and after pinching three points from the maroon Romans from a penalty before half time and a late strike by Bonucci, Juventus can now see themselves three points clear ahead of Roma. Before they faced Juventus in Turin, Roma were proving to be too hot to handle and will for continue to offer a new flair this campaign. Three straight wins in the league and a away draw against Manchester City in the Champions League represented strength and character in the Roma team.

Now they face Chievo who are fighting on the other end of the table, hovering in 16th position with a one-point string attaching them closer and closer to the bottom relegation zone. The Verona team haven’t caused much damage this season and their only victory proved to be a shocker, defeating Napoli in Naples 1-0. After that result, you would’ve thought the yellow shirts would be set to challenge their rivals Hellas Verona in the table. However, this would prove not to be the case. Chievo have failed to find three points in their last four attempts, and only a home draw against newly promoted Empoli proved to be the small consolation, putting that extra point on the board. Both teams have tasks of their own and both are need of points. The Romans look to conquer in this one though.

Nice to beat Bastia 11/10:

By gaining ten points from their last five games and a win against their rivals, Monaco, Nice have a lot to cheer about at the moment. A team that was predicted to struggle has now found form at the right time, Nice are now sitting in a comfortable 11th place and this could improve when they challenge another team based on island outside the French mainland. The Corsicans, Bastia have relegation on their minds, as they sit in 19th position with a mere seven points to cheer about. On top of that, Bastia are without a win in five games, losing their last two on the bounce, adding to the misery. Bastia were set to put up a challenge against Lorient last time out, but the orange shirts from Brittany stepped up the gear in the second half, slumping the royal blues from Furiani to another defeat. Nice will be seeking progression and Rennes in 12th position are still four points away. Before their match against Lyon, Nice will face relegation threatened Guingamp and Metz shortly after, so three points would be very nice.

Mainz 05 to beat Augsburg 7/5:

Mainz 05 are currently unbeaten in the Bundersliga so far and they will be seeking European qualification this season. The red shirts are sitting in 6th position and after gaining an impressive 1-1 draw against Borussia Mochengladbach last time out, they will be welcoming Augsburg with open arms. Augsburg were in this dog fight last season, but they have been shot in the wings this season and have found it very difficult to find a clear flight path in the league so far. Augsburg are proving to be inconsistent, winning and then losing, with their recent game being a loss, away from home against Wolfsburg. A match that is likely to feature goals, but Mainz may prove to be stronger in this fight, as their home form has been dominant so far this season. Augsburg haven’t been packing the correct material when setting on their travels, four losses from five, puts the ball back in the Coface Arena for Mainz 05.

Borussia Mochengladbach to beat Hannover 96 13/10:

Our second pick in the Bundersliga this week features another unbeaten side that has the ambition to strike a Champions League place if they continue their good run of form. Borussia Mochengladbach have started out the blocks with a flying start, they are currently four points away from Bayern Munich and with Hoffenhiem holding 2nd on goal difference, a win against Hannover will surely be on their minds. Mochengladbach will travel to the HDI- Arena to face Hannover who have lost their last two games. They also travel in confidence after winning their last away game against Paderborn, who have proven to be a wildcard to watch this season. In the 13/14 campaign, both teams managed to scrape together three points on their home turf, Hannover took victory in their last meeting, 3-0, meaning Mochengladbach will be seeking revenge as well as progression heading towards the almighty Bayern Munich.
