Yet another big game so early on in the Premier League season, here is our preview and some free football betting tips for the Saturday evening match at Goodison Park.
Both teams come into the match undefeated in the first two matches with Chelsea having won against two of the three newly promoted Clubs, Burnley and Leicester, while Everton have played out two 2 – 2 draws; one against Leicester and one against the Arsenal.
Everton will feel aggrieved that they, like Chelsea, should have six points from two games; having twice been pegged back when leading. That said, they have shown signs that they are still the same force as last season and play with same pace and intensity that saw them finish fifth last term. They have added to their squad, with the additions of Samuel Eto’o and Christian Atsu, as well as tying down Gareth Barry and Romelu Lukaku on permanent deals; having spent last season on loan at Goodison.
Chelsea looked ultra impressive against Burnley, having gone a goal down, but were a touch fortunate to get the three points against Leicester. The Foxes have given both sides a tough match and with a bit of luck could’ve held Chelsea to a draw. That was the type of game, though, that had it been the latter part of the season, many pundits would be saying ‘that’s the type a game that wins titles’. The Blues could be boosted this week by the news that new signing Diego Costa could return from a hamstring problem that threatened to rule him out for a month. With speculation rife about Fernando Torres’ future they mat well turn to the returning Didier Drogba up front and start Costa on the bench.
In what is likely to be an entertaining game, yet a close contest, the value in this game looks to be the draw. Bet365 have the draw at 23/10 and, with plenty of attacking talent on display, the 100/30 on offer with the same firm for a score draw looks great value to. For those of you who like the correct score bets then this one could well end in a 2 – 2 (Everton’s third in a row) and William Hill are best priced 16/1 for the score line.
