Everton v Manchester United Betting Tips and Predictions

Man United welcome Everton to Old Trafford in probably the biggest clash in the midweek Premier League fixtures with Everton in great form and United looking like the team they once was during their championship winning campaign last season.

United had a difficult task of Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday and came away with a decent 2-2 draw which currently sits them 8th in the league, still an incredible 9 points behind leaders Arsenal. It was a slow start to the season for United, with new manager David Moyes taking the helm from the influential Sir Alex Ferguson. It’s obviously been a massive transition period for United and with people writing them off within the first 5 games, they are slowly picking up more wins which results in more points. The main man RVP hasn’t been hitting on all cylinders this year, with niggling injuries and low key performances, which has resulted in the resurgence of England’s Wayne Rooney.  Rooney has 10 goals in all competitions this season and is looking the player he was a few years back. This is very good for United as they don’t seem to have many other players who are contributing, the biggest disappointment being £27.5 million rated Fellaini. I believe Rooney will add to his tally in this game against his former club and a first goal scorer bet is where I will be looking for value!

Everton have had a great start to the season under new boss Roberto Martinez and with a 4-0 thumping of Stoke on Saturday see themselves sitting pretty in 5th, on the same points as Merseyside rivals Liverpool. Martinez has bought in a new approach to the Blue’s that include a neat, patient passing game. The inclusion of Gareth Barry and James McCarthy have gave them a lot of key passes for the big man Lukaku to pounce on. In recent weeks though there’s a new face on the block that has lit up this Everton team. Loanee Gerard Deulofeu has been brilliant using his skill, pace and presence to run at defences that saw him notch his first Premier League goal at the weekend. More play like this will see the youngster in for a big debut season. I’m anticipating a great game at Old Trafford and will predict a narrow win for the host’s 2-1 or possibly 3-1 being the outcome. Let’s try and get another winner!
