Expert Cheltenham Tips for Wednesday 12th March 2014

The Cheltenham Festival 2014 is less than a week away and we have got some expert Cheltenham tips for day two courtesy of Paul Nicholls.

Wednesday 12^th March throws up some fantastic races at the Cheltenham Festival and Paul Nicholls is mob handed, he has been speaking to Betfair about the chances of his horses and from that we have picked out a couple of Cheltenham betting tips for day two.

The first horse Nicholls talked about was Sam Winner (14/1 Coral) who he thinks is a leading player in the RSA Chase. He is a smart chaser who took his time over fences and needed the run at Cheltenham races earlier in the season, he has to go left handed and gets that at Cheltenham, Nicholls seemed keep and at the odds looks a cracking Cheltenham betting tip.

Nicholls also spoke about a few Coral Cup possibilities including Edgardo Sol (50/1 Betfred) and Far West (20/1 William Hill). Far West has had a frustrating season and fell as the last in the Betfair Hurdle when going well, he needs a trip and the Coral Cup looks an interesting prospect.

Hinterland (14/1 Sky Bet) could take his chance in the Champion Chase if the ground dries up, otherwise it could be the Arkle on day one. He has loads of speed but needs good ground underfoot.

Sire Collonges (8/1 Betfred) was the horse Nicholls was most bullish about for the Wednesday so he looks set to be the best bet of the yard for that day. He goes in the Cross Country after winning it around Cheltenham in December and has been trained for that race.

Of all the runners mentioned by Paul Nicholls he seemed most keen on Sire Collonges as his best expert Cheltenham tip for day two. The Cross Country is notoriously difficult to win but this horse has already done that and that experience is vital. Of the rest Sam Winner could be a player in the RSA Chase and at odds of 14/1 it is probably worth taking an each-way punt on that horse.
