Football Accumulator Tip for Saturday 19 October

The return of the domestic football fixture list once again presents an opportunity for a Saturday accumulator, and there is a cracking bookmaker offer to take advantage of in this respect. Winner offer money back on five-fold accumulators if one match lets you down by refunding your stake as a free bet! Having analysed the fixture list in detail, my accumulator selections are below…

Everton to beat Hull

It would not be a complete shock to see Hull take something from their visit to Everton given their good recent run where they are unbeaten in their last four league matches. That said the Toffees are strong at home, having not lost a league match at Goodison Park in 2013. Roberto Martinez’s side should have enough to get all three points in this one.

Nottingham Forest to beat Bournemouth

If you read my Championship preview you will know that I fancy Bournemouth to have a decent season. In Eddie Howe they have a top-class manager, and the early signs are good for the Cherries having accumulated sixteen points from their first eleven matches and sitting eighth in the table. On the road however, Bournemouth have not been so hot. Calamitous defeats at Watford and Huddersfield, and a 2-1 reverse at Leeds, mean that the boys from Dorset have taken only four points from a possible fifteen on the road this season. Bournemouth will do well to get anything at the fortress City Ground, where Forest’s home form this season reads P5 W4 D1 L0.

Reading to beat Doncaster

This match may not be as one-sided as the odds suggest, with Doncaster having only suffered defeat once in their four away league matches this season. The Royals are strong at home though, with three victories and two draws from their five home league fixtures this season. Reading sit one point out of the play-off places and will see this as a must-win game as they aim to keep up with the promotion pace-setters.

Peterborough to beat Shrewsbury

Posh should make it six league victories on the bounce as a poor-travelling Shrewsbury outfit visit London Road. The Shrews lie in mid-table so are not having a disastrous season by any means; however their form on the road does not give much cause for optimism. Graham Turner’s side have failed to win any of their last nine league matches on the road. I don’t see them starting to reverse that trend this weekend.

Walsall to beat Stevenage

Lying in joint-fourth bottom spot in the league, Stevenage look like they may have turned a corner with a win over MK Dons in the Football League Trophy followed by a league victory at home to Brentford. They may well fancy their chances to make it three wins on the bounce at an out-of-form Walsall side. The Saddlers have failed to win any of their last four league matches, dropping to tenth place in the table. When the sides last met back in January, Walsall recorded a narrow 1-0 victory. I’ll side with the hosts to get back to winning ways.
