Heracles v Herenveen – Heracles win 

The Eredivisie surprise package Heracles are back at home on Friday night facing Herenveen and they are expected to make it 4 wins out of 4 at home. Their unbeaten run came crashing to a halt last week against AZ, but at home, they have beaten PSV, Twente and NEC Nijmegen. 2 of those are decent opposition and hard to overcome. And the other one are Twente. They look a threat going forward and score goals at will. They're sharing the goals around, Tannane started the season like a house on fire, but has quietened down since then, he still had pace to burn and will be a thorn in the side of the Herenveen defenders all evening. Weghorst also chips in with a few and the impressive Thomas Bruns in the centre will keep things ticking along and moving forward. Herenveen are no more than an average Eredivisie team and they shouldn't trouble the home side here. 

 

Rotherham v Burnley – Burnley win

Burnley were tough to beat this season, but they lost to Reading at the weekend. However, the Royals are on a run of form which has seen them suddenly become promotion candidates. Rotherham parted company with manager Steve Evans this week under baffling circumstances. They had registered 2 wins and had seemingly turned a corner, but this might set them back. They have lost Lee Frecklington and Paul Green to injuries so their midfield will be depleted for this. Joey Barton might make his debut for Burnley and manager Sean Dyche is unlikely to let his side be as lacklustre as last week and they should have too much for the Millers. 

 

Auxerre v Paris FC – Under 2.5 goals 

We touched upon Paris FC in midweek, they have an extraordinary record of drawing nearly every single match in the league this season. They've drawn an incredible 8 out of 9 games in Ligue 2 and haven't lost yet. They've drawn 4 of their last 5 matches 1-1 and the other 0-0. They are incredibly hard to break down and although Auxerre are having a decent season, they may go the same way as a number of other clubs who haven't been able to get past them this season. With so many games ending 1-1 and 0-0 you'd have to favour the unders here. They barely concede and aren't exactly gifted with attacking talent, this one may not be one for the neutral, but the under 2.5 goals should land. 

 

Telstar v FC Eindhoven – Over 2.5 goals

Moving in a completely different direction now – to a league where the goals flow and two teams who score a fair few of them. The Dutch Jupiler League is tremendous entertainment on a Friday night and is as competitive as ever. There are weeks when every single over 1.5 or over 2.5 goals bet can land from 10 fixtures. 6 of the 8 fixtures played by both of these sides has ended in overs this season. The last 4 for Telstar have all featured 3 or more goals whilst 3 of the last have landed for FC Eindhoven. 

 

Lille v Montpellier – Under 2.5 goals 

Another game in which we think goals will be at a premium. Lille have been miserly in defence and have barely registed a goal this season. Just 2 scored goals scored in 8 games would normally see a side rooted to the foot of the table, but in Ligue 1 they've conceded just 4 goals, which means they keep a clean sheet every other game. They are very much against providing entertainment to their poor paying fans. Montpellier are also struggling for any sort of consistency this season and they have been scoring a few recently, but they're going to find getting past Lille's defence a problem. Just like Lyon, Bordeaux and Ajaccio who all couldn't get past them. They also kept PSG to just 1, so they shouldn't have any problems keeping out today's opposition. 

 

Celta Vigo v Getafe – Celta Vigo to win

We're only 6 games into the new La Liga season, so nobody is getting carried away just yet, but Celta Vigo are still unbeaten. They have 4 wins and 2 draws to their name and are playing some good stuff. They come up against a Getafe side who will have been boosted by a 3-0 against Levante last weekend, but their only two victories have come against teams in the bottom 3. Both Malaga and Levante are in for long hard seasons. Getafe have failed to win any of their last 7 games in La Liga and haven't scored in 5 of them. The Celta Vigo defence should have no problems dealing with everything that will be thrown at them, esecially as they are unbeaten in their last 11 games snaking back to last season.
