Football Accumulator Tips:

PEC Zwolle v FC Utrecht – PEC Zwolle win

PEC Zwolle were humiliated at home last week by Vitesse. They were thumped 5-1, although they were down to ten men for most of the second half. It was an uncharacteristic defeat on home territory for Zwolle, who have been strong in front of their own fans this season. I fancy them to bounce back from that anomaly. Firstly, Vitesse are a decent away side, they score plenty of goals and Zwolle won't be the only victims of their free-scoring ways this season. Secondly, they will hopefully keep 11 men on the field this time around and they are against a side who haven't won away from home yet. In fact, Utrecht, have only picked up 1 point on their travels this season and haven't won in 4 games. They have the 4th worse away record in the league and their point came against ADO Den Haag early in the season. ADO are a poor side and have the 3rd worse home record in the eredivisie. Ouasim Bouy will be missing after his breach of disclipline last weekend, but that shouldn't cause them to slip up again. They haven't failed to score in any of their home games this season and I fancy them to comfortably overcome Utrecht here.

Nacional v Boavista – Nacional win

I predict that this match isn't going to go straight to DVD and be sold in the club shop. The 1/2 for Under 2.5 goals suggests that chances are going to at a premium. However, the home side have a far superior record and I fancy them to win by a goal or 2 here. Dating back to 2008, Nacional have won 4 of the last meetings between these sides and although both sides are very closely matched in terms of recent form, Nacional are yet to lose at home this season. 2 wins and a draw from their opening 3 matches with the draw at home to Vitoria Setubal. They've only conceded once at home this season and snaking back to last season, unbeaten in 12 here. It's a stiff uphill task for Boavista, who lost 1-0 to Rio Ave last time they were on the road. Their only victory on their travels came away at Acaedemica, who have the second worse home record in the league and are rock bottom of the form table.

Genk v Mouscron Peruwelz – Both Teams to Score? Yes

I know very little about Mouscron Peruwelz, except that they played last Friday night as they came up trumps for us with the Both Teams to Score bet. Here they are again and I think it's entirely possible, we could see a similar result. The 1/2 on Genk suggests they will walk this, but Gent were expected to do the same 7 days ago and they had to comeback in the second half to eventually win 2-1. Genk have won their last two home games 3-1, they're playing some terrific attacking football, but they are leaking goals and they come up against a side who have kept 0 clean sheets and have never failed to score in any away match this season. Genk last kept a clean sheet at home to Charleroi, who have have the 3rd worse attack in the league. Both of these sides have gone over 2.5 goals in 80% of their games this season, but it's slightly better value to take the both teams to score option.

Rotherham v Sheffield Wednesday – Both Teams to Score? Yes

Rotherham have a new man at the helm – Neil Redfearn. The aimable former Leeds manager has taken over at the New York Stadium. They have a South Yorkshire derby to look forward to on Friday night. Sheffield Wednesday are extremely hard to beat, since their 3-1 defeats to Burnley and Middlesbrough (no shame in either of those), they've been undefeated in 6 games, picking up 12 points in the process. Rotherham got a point against in-form Reading in midweek and that should give them the confidence going into this game. Ricardo Carvalhal made a number of changes in midweek for their 0-0 at QPR, so I wouldn't read too much into that. The team is going to be similar to the side that drew 1-1 with Hull City last Saturday. 7 of Rotherham's last 8 games have ended with both teams finding the net and the same happened in 6 of the last 8 for the visitors. It finished 2-3 last time the New York Stadium staged a game between these sides and whilst I don't expect that many goals – 1-1 is a far more likely outcome.

Paris FC v Niort – Under 2.5 goals

A short price to finish with in the 2nd tier of French football. I've been following the fortunes of Paris FC this season and they are a very peculiar side, who do not tend to win, but instead, draw nearly everyone of their games. If you'd backed every single one of their games to draw this season, you'd be reading this from a yacht in Barbados. Their last 4 home results read 0-0, 1-1, 0-0 and 1-1. There have been 5 1-1 draws in their last 8 games and 2 0-0s. The draw is a decent-ish price at 19/10, but I know that this will be the one week, they fail to oblige, so instead, we'll predict another dearth of goals. Their opponents were involved in a goal-fest last week, but they tend to indulge in low scoring affairs too. They've only scored 7 goals in 11 whilst Paris FC have only conceded 8 in their opening 11 matches, so this one isn't going to be one for the neutral.
