Tuesday night accumulator tips:
Scunthorpe v Barnsley – Scunthorpe to win
Scunthorpe have already beaten Barnsley this season, that was on the opening day and it was by 2 goals to 1. Both teams have been fairly inconsistent since that day, but have shown glimmers of hope. The Tykes were particularly impressive in the Capital One Cup against Everton. They are a young team under Lee Johnson and got thumped away from home by Rochdale at the weekend, which won't have done the confidence of the camp much good. Scunthorpe have goalscorers in their side and Paddy Madden can be lethal at this level. They may decide to shake things up but they have more strength in depth than their opponents.
Morecambe v Walsall – Walsall to win
Walsall are on a terrific run of form. Their 4-0 thumping of sorry Blackpool saw them go second top at the weekend and they are playing with a swagger that hasn't been seen for a long while. Romaine Sawyers is back in imperious form and he netted twice against the bottom club. Tom Bradshaw is widely tipped for the League's top goalscorer and they currently look unstoppable. They beat in-form Coventry a couple of weeks ago and they should be able see off Morecambe without too much trouble. Morecambe have been decent enough, they can score goals, but they surrended a 3 goals to Portsmouth 2 weeks ago, which shows they still have vulnerabilities at the back.
Port Vale v Carlisle – Port Vale to win
It doesn't seem like an obvious choice, but Port Vale don't concede many goals and I think Carlisle will struggle to break through tonight. Vale lost 1-0 to Bradford but it was a 94th minute goal that was their undoing in the end. They have a solid backline, but goalscoring seems to be a problem for them. They should be able to put 1 or 2 past Carlisle who tend to make a habit of scoring and conceding in most games they participate in. It may only be a goal between these sides, as traditionally Port Vale are involved in low scoring games, but it might not be an evening to remember for the Cumbrians who conquered QPR just a week ago.
Cambridge v Dagenham & Redbridge – Cambridge to win
It's been a difficult season for the Daggers so far, they have struggled to find a win and almost did it against Wycombe, but were pegged back in the 92nd minute. They come up against Cambridge, who started like a house on fire, but have wobbled slightly since then. Cambridge signed experienced defenders Mark Roberts and Leon Legge, but it hasn't seemed to stop them conceding goals. They kept a clean sheet at the weekend, but that was their first in a while. They should see off the Daggers, but it wouldn't surprise me if they concede a goal along the way. With Barry Corr in your teams and Luke Berry pulling the strings, they should be better than their opponents.
Accrington v Bury – Both Teams to Score? Yes
Bury have been a good porfitable team to back in goal markets this campaign as they are full of them! They also tend to concede at keast 1 goal every week and their 1-1 draw with Oldham at the weekend was a Both Teams to Score banker. They play Accrington, who ran Hull close in the Capital One Cup and they are usually good for a goal or two. John Coleman's men usually defy the critics and whilst I cannot see them beating the Shakers, I certainly think they'll find the net.
