Angers v Guingamp – Under 2.5 goals 

We turn to the Ligue 1 for this first game and these are two of the divisions most organised sides. Angers do not concede goals as a rule, so it was somewhat of a surprise to see them ship the opening goal against Toulouse, before coming back to win 2-1. They tend to be a little more open on the road, but at home, they've conceded 2 goals all season. They welcome back Romain Saiss to the centre of defence, who they missed last time out whilst he was serving his suspension. Their last 4 home results read 1-0, 0-0, 1-0 and 1-1. Guingamp are also pretty solid and difficult to beat, they're on a 3 match winning run themselves and have only conceded 7 goals away from home, 3 of which were dispatched by PSG. 3 of their 5 away games have ended with just a single goal in them and they welcome back Lionel Mathis and Younousse Sankhare into midfield, which already gives them a more solid base. 

 

GFC Ajaccio v Nice – Nice win 

Nice are a genuine pleasure to watch this season. As someone who covered a number of their games last year, there was regular disharmony amongst the ranks and they were hit with bans on fans and various protests against the higher echelons of the clubs management. This season has been a breeze in comparison. They have the 3rd best away form in the league with only PSG and Angers ahead of them. They've won their last 4 games, 3 of which have been away from home. The scorelines 1-4, 1-4 and 1-3. Hatem Ben Arfa seems to be finally living up to his potential and they play decent attacking football which is getting the fans on their feet. They face Ajaccio here, who haven't fared well in Ligue 1 thus far , they've failed to win any of their last 10 matches in the divison and have shipped at least 2 goals in their last 3 games. Another way to play is over 2.5 goals, but the price is better for a Nice victory. Claude Puel will probably name an unchanged line up to the one which battered Rennes and they could do the same to Ajaccio. 

 

De Graafschap v Heracles – Heracles win 

Another away win by another team in form. Heracles have started the season impressively, but a defeat at home to Ajax last time out halted their momentum temporarily. They'll be pleased to playing bottom of the league and bottom of the form league – De Graafschap. Heracles have no injury worries ahead of this match and I've liked the look of them this season. They beat PSV and look like they have plenty of goals in them. It's not all gung-ho though, they also appear to know how to close out a game if required. They average 2 goals a game and it looks like they are going to cause problems for the Graafschap back 4. They've won 6 times this season already and with Weghorst and Tannane, they have goals in their ranks, although the latter has struggled to follow up his impressive early season record. Graafschap have only picked up 1 point at home this season, that was a 2-2 draw with Willem II, who aren't renowned for their away form. Heracles should win this reasonably comfortably. 

 

Malaga v Deportivo – Deportivo +1 Handicap 

Deportivo are very much a side in form in La Liga. I'm not going to let the fact that they are here off the back of consecutive draws put me off, as with the handicap bet, we are covered. They are undefeated in 11 of their last 12 La Liga games, with only a 3-2 reverse at home to Sporting Gijon the blot on their copybook. Malaga are a little shy in front of goal, they scored all 3 of their goals for the season in one match, a 3-1 victory of David Moyes' Real Sociedad. They are looking to bounce after being pummelled by Valencia, 3 -0 last time out and they might not be able to take anything from this game. Deportivo have the 5th best away form in the league, are yet to lose on the road and have scored in each one of their away days.
