Free Champion Stakes Betting Tips and Trends

Free Champion Stakes Betting Tips and Trends – This Saturday’s (17th October) Champion Stakes at Ascot racecourse was originally staged at Newmarket, but the Group One race was moved to Ascot racecourse  in 2011, and is now the final leg of the British Champions Series – we've got all the past winners, key trends and our FREE Champion Stakes tips.

In 2012 wonder-horse, Frankel, won the race in his final race before heading for a career at stud, while looking at the key trends it’s worth noting that horses aged 5 or younger have won 12 of the last 13.

We take a look back at past winners of the Champion Stakes and also highlight the key trends to take into the 2015 renewal – this year staged on Saturday 17th October.

FREE CHAMPION STAKES HORSE RACING TIP: With around £700,000 on offer to the winner of the Champion Stakes then it’s no surprise most of the top yards have horses running. It’s a race that stables from France have also targeted with success in recent time – winning it three times since 2006, but in contrast –and surprisingly – leading Irish handler Aidan O’Brien is yet to take the prize. They will be hoping to put that right this year with their classy filly – Found. The yard are in flying form at the moment and won a number of the top races at the Newmarket Cesarewitch Meeting last week so will be heading here full of confidence. The horse wasn’t beaten far (5 lengths) in the Prix de I’ Arc de Triomphe a few weeks ago and before that was just a length behind Golden Horn in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown. The drop back to 1m2f will be in her favour and soft ground won’t matter either. However, another trainer that’s looking for his first win in the race is John Gosden – he’s had a season to remember already but could further add to that here with JACK HOBBS. The Epsom Derby runner-up went onto win the Irish Derby and then prepped for this with an easy AW win at Kempton. He’s the clear highest-rated in the line-up, but will have to give 3lbs to Found so that won’t be easy. The drop back to 1m2f won’t be a problem and we know he stays further so looks the one to beat. Of the rest, the French-trained Vadamos hails from the Andre Fabre, who won this race in 1991 and 1994. The horse has won his last two in impressive fashion so there could be more to come, but he does need to prove he’s as good at this level with those wins coming against lesser company – with that in mind we’ll stick with JACK HOBBS to give trainer John Gosden another huge payday.
