Free Golf Betting Tips & Preview- 2013 Deutsche Bank Championship

The 2^nd leg of the FedEx Cup played at the TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts.  TPC Boston is an Arnold Palmer designed Par 71, 7200+ yard layout built in 2002. The tournament has been played here since 2003 and the most recent winners of the tournament are Rory McIlroy (2012), Webb Simpson (2011), Charley Hoffman (2010), and Steve Stricker (2009). Tiger, Phil, and Barclays winner Adam Scott are all players in this field that have taken home the trophy in Boston as well. TPC Boston is one of the easiest courses on TOUR where over the last 5 years, an average score of -19 (265) has been the number to take home the trophy. The course has a few holes that the players can take full advantage of, including the 298 yard par 4 4^th and the 533 yard par 5 18^th. This will certainly be a birdie fest and we’re going to look for players who can card a lot of birdies. As always, strokes gained will be important as will proximity to the hole. We’ll need players that can hit the green in regulation often so the birdie opportunities will be in abundance.

The weather for the weekend looks good as well with temps in the high 70s to low 80s all weekend with very little chance for rain. Remember that this tournament starts Friday and ends on Monday (Labor Day Holiday here in the states).

Phil Mickleson to win – 14/1

I think Phil is finally over the Open hangover that was plaguing him the past month. He finished T6 last week at the Barclays with an impressive Sunday charge. We know Phil is capable of shooting some of the lowest scores on TOUR and is currently 1^st in the Birdies or Better category.

Henrik Stenson to win – 25/1

I continue to back Stenson because he is playing really great golf this year. He has proven that he can contend at birdie fests similar to the DBC. He finished T3 at the Scotland Open at -15 and T2 at the Shell Houston Open at -15. Great driver of the ball and hits a ton of GIRs.

Keegan Bradley e/w – 35/1

A native to the Boston area, Keegan has a good game for this course. 1^st in Par 5 average, 6^th in total driving, and 25^th in birdies or better. A top 20 finish in 4 of his last 6 starts. A little home cookin’ should have us looking at Keegan in contention come Sunday.

Jason Day e/w – 28/1

With two top 5 finishes at TPC Boston in the last 3 years, Day should be looking for his 1^st victory of the 2013 season this week. Day is another player that can shoot really low scores and plays the par 5s very well.

Zach Johnson e/w – 35/1

ZJs past 5 tournaments look like this: T5, T8, T4, T6, T2. That’s just about enough said there. Has made his last 4 cuts at TPC Boston. Expect him to be in contention.

Jim Furyk e/w – 28/1

Another situation where we are riding the hot hand here. Furyk’s last 4 tournaments:  T6, 2, T9, T9. We just missed out on him placing at the Barclays by 1 stroke, but I expect his good play to continue this week. Furyk has made all 6 cuts here and has 3 top 10s.

Bet £10 on Big Phil to win, if he does get £150 back – with golf it is wise to have a least a team of 2 or 3 in each event (tends to be over 100 runners), so why not back Jason Day with £5 e/w and get £180 back if he wins or £40 back with a place.
