Free Golf Betting Tips & Preview- Top 10/Top 20- The Open Championship

Right, I’m really excited about the Open Championship 2013 starting on Thursday morning and we here at thatsbettingtips.com are going to stick to our recent policy of tipping 2 players each event.

This time I am going to tip players to finish Top 10 (as usual) but also in the Top 20 market- which is only sparsely available outside the major championships but can be both profitable and can maintain your interest in an event – even if your player is 10 off the lead you can still finish Top 20!!

My Top 10 prices are provided by Betfred – Betfred are offering an incredible 8 PLACES for a limited time tomorrow (10am – 6pm, 17/07/13) online, shops and over the phone – Click here – Sign up with them now to take advantage of 8 Places & a free £50 Bet – that can’t be a bad deal!

My Top 20prices are provided by William Hill – William Hill are offering a tasty 7 places this week, to go along with all their betting Statistics and previews/podcasts – Click here and  Sign up for your FREE £25 Bet and 7 places this week!

I’m sure by now the majority of you have read other previews explaining about the course layout, past champions, recent trends etc.. if not check out sister site golfbetcompanion.com which is providing 2 EW tipping articles this week, here I will just explain the reasoning behind my two selections below.  I have selected 2 players who could very feasibly finish Top 10 given the hard, fast course conditions, their respective playing styles and their previous Open records’, at the very least I expect them to make the cut and hopefully enter the Top 20 for a nice little return!

Here are my two selections-

Tim Clark =  16/1 Top 10, 6/1 Top 20

Accurate driver, ranked 4th on the PGA tour this season and is an excellent short iron player.  Struggles chipping, but as this venue he should be able to putt from off some of the greens (which he is very comfortable doing) and he is so accurate he should avoid the real trouble.  Terrible Open record, which is why we are getting the price, but made cut at Hoylake in 2006 in hard/fast conditions and also won the players Championship in very firm conditions in 2010.

Ryan Moore = 12/1 Top 10, 6/1 Top 20

Driving very accurately this season (how is this for accurate driving http://www.pgatour.com/statsreport/2013/06/03/inside-the-numbers-memorial-tournament.html) and 2 top 10’s in his last 7 events show his form in general is good.  This is his forth Open championship, and he has made the cut twice and has a 28th place finish to his name in 2011, very accurate short iron player at his best and is ranked in the Top 65 in both strokes gained putting and scrambling on the PGA Tour this season.
