Free Horse Racing Betting Tips – 5th August 2015

Another top day of horse racing winners yesterday and we’ll be hoping to continue the good form into Wednesday as there’s plenty more horse racing today, with all flat horse racing cards at Brighton, Chepstow and Pontefract, while Kempton and Newcastle provide the evening horse racing action.

Horse racing tipping expert, Andy Newton, gives you his free horse racing tips and best bets this Wednesday (5th Aug) across today’s fixtures.

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Brighton Tips –

2.20 – Brighton – Some big yards on show here, but we’ll take a chance on the unraced START TIME (Bet here at 11/4 with Ladbrokes) doing the business for the Saeed Bin Suroor camp. The yard boast an impressive 44% record here with their runners and their juveniles are generally ready to go at the first time of asking. James Doyle prefers this one over the other Godolphin runner – Mansfield.

BET NOW – START TIME

3.50 – Brighton – Mark Johnston loves to send runners down south to Brighton so despite not firing of late his runner here – SUR EMPIRE (e/w) (Bet here at 8/1 with Paddy Power) – catches the eye. This 3 year-old gets weight from most of the others (age/sex allowance) and the yard took this race 12 months ago too. Silvestre de Sousa is a further plus in the saddle.

BET NOW – SUR EMPIRE (e/w)

Chepstow Tips –

2.00 – Chepstow – The William Haggas horses have been in cracking form for much of the season and they’ve got another good chance here with SIRAJIAH (Bet here at 11/8 with Skybet). The horse was a beaten favourite on debut at Leicester but wasn’t disgraced and with that run under her belt should be seen in a better light here. The yard boast an impressive 39% record at the track too.

BET NOW – SIRAJIAH

3.00 – Chepstow – This could be another one for the Haggas team in this maiden race. They have FLYING HAMMER (Bet here at 5/4 with Boylesports) entered and after a fine third on debut last season should be a lot stronger this term. The stable took this race in 2010 too, while we’ve already mentioned their impressive 39% strike-rate at the course.

BET NOW – FLYING HAMMER

3.30 – Chepstow – A trappy little race with just 4 runenrs, but the recent CD winner, STONE ROSES (Bet here at 11/8 with Betfred), stands out. Michael Bell’s 3 year-old won well here last time and despite being hiked-up 8lbs for that she won by 3 ½ lengths that day which suggests she can cope with the extra burden.

BET NOW – STONE ROSES

PontefractTips –

2.40 – Pontefract – Richard Fahey’s SUNNUA (Bet here at 9/4 with Betfair) was highly-tried in the Wetherbys Super Sprint last time out but did well to only finish just under 6 lengths off the winner. She will find this company easier and the return to 6f is another plus (was second over this trip two runs back)

BET NOW – SUNNUA

3.40 – Pontefract – Luca Cumani does well here at Pontefract with his runners (38%) so his PENHILL (Bet here at 2/1 with William Hill) stands out. The horse was a fair fourth in the Old Newton Cup last time out and although he’s got top-weight here looks the one to beat if running to that level again.

BET NOW – PENHILL

4.40 – Pontefract – Fazza won this race in 2013 so must be respected, but has failed to win a race since and is not getting any younger at 8 years-old. The one we like here is DANA’S PRESENT (Bet here at 9/4 with Bet365). A good second last time out at Goodwood and off the same mark comes here with a big chance dropped in grade.

BET NOW – DANA’S PRESENT

Kempton Tips –

6.40 – Kempton – Some decent yards on show here, but the one we like is James Fanshawe’s OSIPOVA (Bet here at 4/1 with William Hill). The horse was an excellent second last time out Lingfield over 1m2f, but this longer trip is likely to suit and with over 2 months to get over that run comes here with a big chance.

BET NOW – OSIPOVA (e/w)

8.40 – Kempton – The Fanshawe yard have another decent chance here with UP IN LIGHTS (Bet here at 11/4 with William Hill). This 3 year-old won well on debut back in June and the form of that win has since been franked with the runner-up winning and running a close second in a better race than this last time. The yard are clearly taking their time with this horse but do well with their runners here and is the call with Tom Queally riding.

BET NOW – UP IN LIGHTS

Newcastle Tips –

5.20 – Newcastle – Not much to go on here in this 2 year-old race but Michael Bell’s THE MAJOR (Bet here at 8/1 with Bet365) has run a few solid races in defeat so might be worth chancing. We can expect him to improve with this being his third outing while it’s interesting the yard send him this far north – a track they’ve a 23% record at.

BET NOW – THE MAJOR (e/w)

7.20 – Newcastle – SEA OF HEAVEN (Bet here at 4/6 with Paddy Power) has been runner-up the last twice, but on these terms is the clear one to beat. He gets weight all-round from the others and this step up to 2m looks sure to suit. The yard do well with these sorts and this looks a great chance for this 3 year-old to get off the mark.

BET NOW – SEA OF HEAVEN
