Ascot Horse Racing Tips and Trends (C4/ATR)

9/11 – Winning distance – ½ length or shorter
9/11 – Aged 5 or younger
8/11 – Won between 3-7 times before
8/11 – Yet to win at Listed or better class
7/11 – Unplaced in their last race
5/11 – Irish bred
5/11 – Ran at Newbury last time out
3/11 – Trained by Bryan Smart
1/11 – Favourites
1/11 – Won their last race
Justice Day won the race in 2014
The average winning SP in the last 10 years is 8/1

FREE HORSE RACING TIP: Some old favourites on show here, but on these terms the one to beat looks to be WIND FIRE (Bet here at 4/1 with Boylesports). The David Brown-trained horse was only beaten ½ a lengths last time in a Group Three and has run well on Group One and Two contests before that. This drop into Listed company gives her a real edge and should hopefully be getting back in the winners’ enclosure.

2.35 – Gigaset Cumberland Lodge Stakes (Group 3) Cl1 1m4f CH4

12/12 3 Placed fourth or better last time out
11/13 – Favourites placed

11/13 – Won at Listed or better class before

7/13 – Favourites
6/13 – Ran at Doncaster last time out
5/13 – Trained by Marcus Tregoning
2/13 – Ridden by Martin Dwyer
1/13 – Filly or mare winners
The average winning SP in the last 10 years is 5/2

FREE HORSE RACING TIP: Not the best renewal and all eyes will be on Romsdal after flopping as favourite last time out at Newbury. On these terms and if back to his best then John Gosden’s horse would be hard to beat, but you just wonder if he’s not 100% in love with the game anymore. A similar thing could be said about the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Hillstar, so the safer option could be to stick with WINDSHEAR (e/w) (Bet here at 7/1 with Betfair). The Hannon camp took this race 12 months ago so will be hoping to follow-up. The horse was down the field last time in Turkey in a Group Two, but on his second the time before at Newbury would hold a solid e/w chance here.

Note: The 2005 renewal was staged at Newmarket

3.10 – John Guest Bengough Stakes (Group 3) Cl1 6f CH4

Only 6 previous runnings
7/7 – Won over 6f before
7/7 – Rated 100 or higher
6/7 – Winning distance – 3/4 length or less
6/7 – Won 4 or more times previously
6/7 – Raced within the last 30 days
5/7 – Aged 4 or older
5/7 – Raced 6 or more times that season
3/7 – Returned a double-figure price
4/7 – Won last time out
2/7 – Raced at the Curragh last time out
1/7 – Favourites
Lightning Moon won the race 12 months ago
The Average winning SP in the last 6 years is 11/1

FREE HORSE RACING TIP: Being a mare the David Lanigan-trained INTERCEPTION (e/w) (Bet here at 6/1 with Boylesports) gets weight all-round here and that could prove the difference. The horse does still have a small bit to prove in Group company but this doesn’t look the hottest race. Jockey, George Baker, gets on well with the horse and she’s a previous course and distance winner – the only one in the field!

3.45 – totescoop6 Challenge Cup (Heritage Handicap) Cl2 7f CH4

12/13 – Winning distance – 2 lengths or less
11/13 – Won between 2 and 4 previous races
10/13 – Won over 7f before
9/13 – Carried 9-1 or less in weight
9/13 – Ran within the last 30 days
9/13 – Aged 3 or 4 years-old
8/13 – Ran at Ascot before
8/13 – Ran 7 or more times that season
7/13 – Carried 8-12 or less in weight
7/13 – Returned a double-figure price
4/13 – Ran at Ayr last time out
2/13 – Favourites
2/13 – Trained by Roger Charlton
2/13 – Trained by Mick Channon
2/13 – Won their previous race
0/13 – Filly or mare winners
Intransigent won the race in 2014
Heavens Guest won the race in 2013
5 of the last 7 winners came from stalls 8-13 (inc)
4 of the last 7 horses from stall 10 were placed in the top 3
3 of the last 7 horses from stall 11 were placed in the top 3
The average winning SP in the last 10 years is 16/1

Note: The 2005 renewal was staged at Newmarket

FREE HORSE RACING TIP: The draw could play a big part here with 5 of the last 7 winners hailing from stalls 8-13 (inc). With that in mind the six to focus on are Buckstay, Professor, Tatlisu, Majestic Moon, Farlow and Mr Win. All are well-fancied in the betting and it could pay to perm them up in forecasts and tri-casts, but the two that stand out looking at the best other stats are BUCKSTAY (Bet here at 6/1 with William Hill)  and MR WIN (Bet here at 9/1 with Bet365).

Newmarket Horse Racing Tips and Trends (C4/RUK)

1.45 – £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes (Plus 10 Race) Cl2 6f CH4

No previous runnings
Brian Meehan is just 1 from 63 with his 2 year-olds here
Clive Brittain is just 2 from 49 with his 2 year-old runners here
Dave Evans has a 33% record with his 2 year-olds here
Jockey Cam Hardie is 2 from 9 (22%) riding 2 year-olds here
Jockey John Egan is 2 from 7 (29%) riding 2 year-olds here

FREE HORSE RACING TIP: A huge pot up for grabs here, but this looks to rest between the two at the head of the card – TWIN SAILS (Bet here at 11/4 with Coral) and RECEDING WAVES (Bet here at 5/1 with Betfair). The last-named comes from the powerful Richard Hannon yard, who do very well in races like this and with Ryan Moore booked gets the nod to improve on his recent win at Haydock.

2.15 – £300,000 Tattersalls Millions 2yo Fillies´ Trophy (Plus 10 Race) Cl2 7f CH4

7 previous runnings
6/7 – Placed in the top 4 last time out
6/7 – Won between 1 and 2 previous races
5/7 – Winning distance – 1 ¼ lengths or more
5/7 – Foaled in February
5/7 – Had 5 previous runs
4/7 – Raced at Newmarket last time out
4/7 – Winning favourites
3/7 – Horse from stall 3 finishing second
3/7 – Failed to win their last race
1/7 – Won over 7f

FREE HORSE RACING TIP: On these terms ALICE SPRINGS (Bet here at 4/7 with Skybet) should really be taking this huge pot. Her close fourth behind Lumiere was a solid effort and was only beaten 1 ½ lengths – will be hard to beat with Ryan Moore riding.

2.50 – £500,000 Tattersalls Millions 2yo Trophy Cl2 7f CH4

7 previous runnings
5/7 – Foaled in March (2) or April (3)
5/7 – Winning distance 1 length or less
5/7 – Placed in the top 2 last time out
4/7 – Unplaced favourites
4/7 – Won over 7f
3/7 – Won their last race
3/7 – Favourites
2/7 – Won by John Gosden
2/7 – Priced 33/1 or bigger in the betting
0/7 – Filly winners
The average winning SP in the last 7 years is 17/1

FREE HORSE RACING TIP: The Haggas, Gosden and Hannon yards have all won this race in the past so their runners are always feared in these valuable sales races. However, trainer Hugo Palmer has had a cracking season and his GIFTED MASTER (Bet here at 9/2 with Coral) looks the one to beat here. Yes, the horse hasn’t been out for 100 days, but won very well when last seen at Newcastle and if running to that form again would be a big player here.

3.30 – Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) (Fillies & Mares) Cl1 1m CH4

9/11 – Won over at least 1m
9/11 – Previous Group winners
9/11 – Won between 3-5 times
8/11 – Raced in the last 6 weeks
8/11 – Rated between 113 and 119
6/11 – Group One winners
5/11 – Aged 3 years-old
4/11 – Returned a double-figure price in the betting
4/11 – French-trained winners
4/11 – Ran at Deauville last time out
3/11 – Winning favourites (1 co)
2/11 – Won by a previous winner of the race
1/11 – Won their last race
Integral won the race 12 months ago
The average winning SP in the last 10 years is 8/1

FREE HORSE RACING TIP: Integral took this race 12 months ago so is respected, but has rather lost her way since so the safer call would be to stick with the French raider, ESOTERIQUE (Bet here at 6/4 with William Hill) . This horse won well last time out at Deauville and is also a past CD winner here at Newmarket. She was also fourth in this race 12 months ago but looks a better horse this season and is taken to win this for France.

Redcar Horse Racing Tips and Trends (C4/RUK)

3.00 – totepool Two-Year-Old Trophy (Listed Race) Cl1 6f CH4

10/13 – Raced within the last 5 weeks
10/13 – Had 4 or more previous runs that season
9/13 – Foaled in March or later
8/13 – Drawn in a double-figure stall
8/13 – Priced 15/2 or shorter in the betting
8/13 – Won over 6f
8/13 – Won 1 or 2 previous races
8/13 – Winning distance – 1 length or less
7/13 – Unplaced favourites
5/13 – Won their last race
3/13 – Raced at Doncaster last time out
3/13 – Filly winners
3/13 – Favourites
2/13 – Trained by Tim Easterby
2/13 – Trained by Stan Moore
The average winning SP in the last 10 runnings is 13/1

FREE HORSE RACING TIP: Mafair Lady is interesting off this mark, for the Richard Fahey team but the Richard Hannon pair at the top of the card – Orvar and LOG OUT ISLAND (Bet here at 4/1 with William Hill) – will be popular too. Log Out Island has been running well in some hot Group Two races without winning, but this race looks easier than those he’s been contesting and looks sure to run a big race if running to that level of form.
