Today’s Horse Racing Tips
Musselburgh Racing Tips –
2.00 – Musselburgh – With a decent 26% record with his runners at the track then it could be worth taking a chance on the Michael Dods-trained FERAL here. The horse seems to be improving from run-to-run and a recent fifth at Ripon was another step in the right direction.
BET NOW – FERAL (e/w) (Bet here at 6/1 with Betfair)
3.30 – Musselburgh – NORTHSIDE PRINCE looks an interesting each-way option here. The Alan Swinbank horse is one of just a few previous CD winners in the line-up and this also represents a drop in grade from it’s last race. A 2lb drop in the ratings helps and the horse is now only 3lbs higher than when last winning – and that was by just over 3 lengths.
BET NOW – NORTHSIDE PRINCE (e/w) (Bet here at 6/1 with 888Sport)
Southwell Racing Tips –
2.20 – Southwell –.The David Bridgewater team do very well here with their jumpers at the track so THE YANK is the call here. The horse was a good second at Uttoxeter last time out over hurdles but looks interesting over fences for the first time. The put the first-time hood on him too and is expected to have been well-schooled for this first try over the bigger obstacles.
BET NOW – THE YANK (e/w) (Bet here at 4/1 with Betway)
3.50 – Southwell – CHANGING THE GUARD looks the obvious call here. Dr Richard Newland’s 9 year-old looks on a good mark on these terms and wasn’t beaten far in what looked a better race last time out.
BET NOW – CHANGING THE GUARD (Bet here at 6/4 with Bet365)
Stratford Racing Tips –
2.40 – Stratford – The Anthony Honeyball yard do well at Southwell with their horses and the team are in decent form at the moment too. Their runner here – TOP CHIEF – was a beaten favourite last time out at Newton Abbot but that run was too bad to be true and based on his second the time before is worth another chance.
BET NOW – TOP CHIEF (Bet here at 9/2 with Bet365)
3.10 – Stratford – A tight little race, but John Ferguson’s LILAC TREE is the call. The horse won well two outings back but wasn’t disgraced into second last time at Bangor and gets a lot of weight here from the others, which could be vital in the closing stages.
BET NOW – LILAC TREE (Bet here at 13/8 with Betfred)
Sedgefield Racing Tips –
6.00 – Sedgefield – Looks between a handful, with Neil Mulholland’s THE BAY BANDIT just coming out on top. The horse has been running well of late without winning and the yard took this race in 2013 too and also boast an impressive 40% record at the course with their runners.
BET NOW – THE BAY BANDIT (Bet here at 3/1 with Coral)
6.30 – Sedgefield – This could be another for the in-form Neil Mulholland team – this time with STRICTLY THE ONE. Last seen on the flat connections look to have found an easy race for him back over the sticks and based on old form looks on a fairly decent mark.
BET NOW – STRICTLY THE ONE (Bet here at 2/1 with Paddy Power)
Wolverhampton Racing Tips –
8.15 – Wolverhampton – The Roger Varian horses have been a bit in-and-out of late, but we are hoping they can get back on track here with FOOL TO CRY, who was a good third on debut. With the expected improvement and the yard’s good record here at the track then everything looks in place for a big run.
BET NOW – FOOL TO CRY (Bet here at 11/8 with Ladbrokes)
9.15– Wolverhampton – Looks between the Chris Wall-trained Oasis Spear and John Gosden’s LIBERALITY with preference for the last-named runner. This horse has been second the last twice, including here two runs back, but the slight drop in trip should suit and she’s take to get off the mark.
