Saturday's Free Horse Racing Tips and Trends: 2nd April -

As we head into Wednesday we’ve plenty more horse racing today, with afternoon cards at Beverley, Newton Abbot and Salisbury, while Kempton and Bath provide the evening horse racing action.

Horse racing tipping expert, Andy Newton, gives you his free horse racing tips and best bets this Wednesday (12th Aug) across today’s fixtures.

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Beverley Racing Tips –

2.30 – Beverley – Brian Ellison does well with his 2 year-olds at the track (25%) so his unraced Harly Forest is worth noting in the betting. However, we like Michael Bell’s STRATHEARN (Bet here at 3/1 with Boylesports) here. The horse was a close second last time out at Ffos Las and can use that experience to good use.

5.10 – Beverley – Next Stop is of interest, but Barry Hills will be hoping his MAWASEEL (Bet here at 9/2 with Coral) can get off the mark. This 4 year-old wasn’t beaten far last time and is down a pound. Trip, track and distance look ideal and the yard boast a decent 33% record at the course.

Newton Abbot Racing Tips –

2.10 – Newton Abbot – This should be another good chance for LEONCAVALLO (Bet here at 1/4 with William Hill) to get off the mark. The horse won well last time out and is another from the powerful John Ferguson camp and would be a shock if he doesn’t take this.

3.10 – Newton Abbot – The John Ferguson team look to hold another big chance here – this time with ANOMALY (Bet here at 10/3 with Bet365). The horse is making his hurdling debut but was a fair 90+ rated flat performer that should have too much class for this lot if taking to hurdling.

Salisbury Racing Tips –

2.20 – Salisbury – The Richard Hannon yard have won this race in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2013 so their two runners – Ice Bond and ZAPPED (Bet here at 9/1 with Bet365) – stand out. The pick was a fair fourth on debut at Leicester and with the expected improvement should be a lot closer this time. Henry Candy’s Vibrant Chords is the danger.

3.55 – Salisbury – A nice pot up for grabs here with a lot of chances. However, the Sir Michael Stoute yard took this in 2007, 2009 and 2013 so their PROVENANCE (Bet here at 9/2 with William Hill) could be the answer. The horse was a beaten favourite last time out at Sandown but finished into second behind a fair sort. The slight drop in trip will help and she should find this opposition a tiny bit easier, albeit in the same class.

Bath Racing Tips –

5.15 – Bath – Robert Cowell likes to have winners here at Bath so his Comedy Night is one to consider, but the horse is looking a shade exposed with five career runs and no wins. Brian Meehan’s Ten Rocks is another to note as they are another stable that do well here, but we’ll take a chance on the unraced BAHAMAIN BOY (Bet here at 9/1 with Betfred). The stable have a 44% record with their 2 year-olds here and Willie Twiston-Davies is a further plus in the saddle

7.20 – Bath – MERRITT ISLAND (Bet here at 8/11 with Coral) won well the other day at Nottingham, but is also a course winner after a victory at the track in May. The horse should appreciate the step up in trip and the 6lb rise doesn’t look too harsh.
