Horse racing betting tips for the best bets for today’s racing from both Ascot and York.

York and Ascot host competitive cards as preludes to their respective top-class meetings tomorrow. With plenty of good quality racing on offer we have listed our best bets of the day.

3.55 Ascot

We begin with a Listed race for 3yo+ fillies and mares, a contest where I believe KIYOSHI (6/1 Ladbrokes) can bounce back to her very best. She had a superb 2yo campaign last season, romping home in the Albany Stakes and then finishing third in the Group One Moyglore Stakes. Charlie Hills’ charge has been very disappointing this season, flopping in the Coronation Stakes and then not doing much better in the Falmouth Stakes. However, you can forgive her Coronation run due to the long lay off and the soft ground in the Falmouth went against her. Back on quicker ground, and with solid Ascot form courtesy of her victory in the Albany, Kiyoshi looks the one to beat.

The obvious danger is Euro Charline who has put in three solid runs already this season. She finished ahead of Kiyoshi in the Coronation in what was her best run to date and still looks to be a progressive filly. Nonetheless, there are slight question marks over her resolution as she has looked flat in the closing stages of her three runs thus far this campaign.

7.30 York

Moving on to York and the feature race is another fillies and mares contest for 3yo+. I’ve been very impressed by the form of the Classics this season and REGARDEZ (5/2 SkyBet) looks to be a solid bet here. Despite only finishing twelfth in the Oaks, she showed great improvement by romping romping to a six-length victory in another Listed contest next time out. She receives weight thanks to her age and should relish the fast ground on offer. Furthermore, she finished third in a Group 3 contest earlier in the season at York, so her course form looks solid.

A horse who has progressed into a smart type is Wall Of Sound. She’s been a very honest runner for Tom Dascombe and saw herself get within half-a-length to 2013 Oaks second Secret Gesture. That performance suggested that she is capable of performing at the highest level and her better performances have come over today’s trip. If she is able to improve on her Nottingham effort then she should be in the mix.
