Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Ascot Tips –

3.30 – Ascot – David Lanigan does well at the track so his Bold Lass is interesting, but on these terms does have a bit to find with Yasmeen and MONTALCINO (Bet 8/1 with Betway) with preference for the last-named. The horse has been second the last twice and being a 3 year-old gets weight from the older horses. The form of her last two Listed race seconds is solid and the Brian Meehan yard won this in 2010.

BET NOW – MONTALCINO (e/w)

4.35 – Ascot – A tough race but the 2012 winner TAAJUB (Bet at 8/1 with Betfred) lines up again and heads here in decent order after a couple of seconds. The horse is not getting any younger at 8 years-old but is 7lbs lower than when winning this race in the past and his recent second to an improving sprinter was a great effort.

BET NOW – TAAJUB (e/w)

Thirsk Tips –

3.40 – Thirsk – Another juveniles race so, again, the market is worth a second glace. But the horse that catches the eye is David Simcock’s RIBBING (Bet at 3/1 with Ladbrokes). This 2 year-old was a beaten favourite on debut on the AW, but she was clearly fancied that day and with that experience under her belt should be better now, while the yard boast a 57% record with their runners here – the Godolphin horse, Spennithorne, looks the danger.

BET NOW – RIBBING

Uttoxeter Tips –

3.50 – Uttoxeter – With a stonking 57% record with his runners at the track then trainer Ben Haslam is the man to follow there here. He runs the top-weight MAD FOR ROAD (Bet at 8/1 with Bet365), who comes here after a third at Cartmel last time out. This track should suit him better and with that last run being his first for 2 months then he should be better for it.

BET NOW – MAD FOR ROAD

York Tips –

6.00 – York – William Haggas has his horses in fine fettle and with a 20% record here at the track then his TALYANI (Bet at 3/1 with William Hill) is the pick here. The horse is lightly-raced with just two career runs and after a third on the AW last time out is back on the turf. He won n debut on the green stuff at Ripon, albeit on softer ground, but being US bred should be fine on the quicker surface too.

BET NOW – TALYANI

7.30 – York – After running down the field in the Epsom Oaks CRYSTAL ZVEZDA (Bet at 11/8 with Coral) will find this a lot easier and can get back to winning ways. She will have most to fear from Pamona, but the drop back to 1m2f will suit her and she’s the clear one to beat here on her easy Newbury Listed win back in May.

BET NOW – CRYSTAL ZVEZDA

Newmarket Tips –

6.10 – Newmarket – Trainer David Baron does well here at the track so his BING BANG BONG (Bet at 2/1 with 888Sport.com), who was a fine third on debut is the selection. The horse was third that day at Pontefract and the fact he was well-backed is a good sign on how he’s regarded at home by connections.

BET NOW – BING BANG BONG)

8.10 – Newmarket – The Mark Johnston yard took this race in 2010 and 2011 so his entry this season – NOVANCIA (Bet at 7/2 with 888Sport) – catches the eye. The horse was a good second last time out at Newbury and looks a typical Mark Johnston improver, with the step up to 1m4f sure to suit too.

BET NOW – NOVANCIA

Chepstow –

5.50 –Chepstow – The Ralph Beckett yard are a bit in-and-out at the moment but they look to have a good chance here with LAVINA ROSE (Bet at 9/4 with Bet365). The horse has improved with each run after a sixth and second so far and can use that experience to good use.

BET NOW – LAVINIA ROSE

6.50 – Chepstow – An interesting little race that could turn into a tactically affair. Ralph Beckett won the race in 2011 and runs Arc Cara, who was an easy CD winner last time. However, she’ll find this harder and Andrew Balding’s GUILDING LIGHT (Bet at 7/4 with Betfair) might just have her measure. The horse returns to the track he won at two runs back and despite being 5lbs higher here the jockey’s 7lb claim offsets most of that.

BET NOW – GUILDING LIGHT
