This week the Frys.com Open takes place at CordeValle GC and we have got free golf betting tips for this weeks tournament.

Venue: CordeValle GC, 7,368 yards, par 71. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., CordeValle opened in 1999 and repeatedly has ranked among the nation’s top 100 public golf courses.

CordeValle has won many of the prestigious golf course awards.  The inland slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains allowed Jones to create a visually striking layout featuring canyons, hillsides and broad meadows.  CordeValle is classed as Jones’s finest creation.

Frys.com Open Betting Tips

This is the first tournament of the season on the PGA Tour, which usually starts in January with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, which typically features a stellar field.  Unlike the new format here at CordeValle, where none of the elite are featured.  My golf tips have been based on the 2013 form-book, due to the past two winners of this event in October having decent form before the event.

Marc Leishman 40/1 e/w – Stan James

Marc is becoming a top-class golfer and the 2013/2014 season could be a productive one for the big Aussie. Marc hasn’t won in 2013 as yet, but has shown real promise in big events, including leading the way at the Masters in April earlier this year, until his countryman, Adam Scott, outclassed him.  Leishman was voted rookie of the year in 2009 which is an obvious indication that the boy has talent and in this weak field he should be there or thereabouts come Sunday.

Jimmy Walker 30/1 e/w – Bet365

Jimmy holds the course record here which he achieved last year in finishing 4th place behind Jonas Blixt, meaning he is obviously very comfortable playing here at CordeValle.  Jimmy has racked up five top tens in 2013 with his best place finish of second at the Greenbrier Classic back in July of this year. Funnily enough, being outshone by Jonas Blixt for the second time.  In this type of field, Jimmy should be able to rack up his first PGA Tour win.

Jason Kokrak 55/1 e/w – Paddy Power

The Canadian born Kokrak, has amassed four top ten finishes so far this year. His best finish being 3rd at the AT&T National in June where Bill Haas stormed the field leaving Kokrak in his wake. Jason seems to like this course due to him coming runner-up here last year.

Brian Davis 80/1 e/w – Sky Bet

Brian is famously known in America for calling a two shot penalty on himself while in a play-off with Jim Furyk at the Verizon Heritage Tournament back in 2010. Here he could have claimed his first PGA Tour event since leaving the European Tour where he was largely successful having won two tournaments previously. Though having not yet set the world alight, so far in 2013, Brian has accrued four top ten finishes.

Pat Perez 125/1 e/w – Coral

Perez came 7th in this tournament back in 2008, which was played at the Raptor Course in Scottsdale, Arizona. Pat has made four top ten finishes in 2013, his best finish being 6th at the Greenbrier Classic which as mentioned above, was won by Jonas Blixt, who is defending champion this week.
