4/13 – Winning favourites
2/13 – Trained by Nicky Henderson
2/13 – Ridden by Paul Hanagan
The average winning SP in the last 10 years is 13/1

VERDICT: Teak won this race 12 months ago so is feared and is the only CD winner in the line-up. However, he’s 16lbs higher than his win last year and will do well to go in again – on a plus thie horse does like it here at the track with his last three runs here reading 1-4-2. Wordiness is riding high with three wins on the spin but this will be harder than the races he’s run in so the one we like is WILLIAM OF ORANGE (Bet at 4/1 with William Hill). Yes, a beaten favourite last time out at York, but Sir Mark Prescott’s 4 year-old only went down ¾ of a length. The extra trip is a slight unknown but the horse is unexposed and does run as if this extra trip will suit. He’s lightly-raced and the yard also took this in 2006 so know the sort of horse that’s required.

BET NOW – WILLIAM OF ORANGE (e/w)

GOODWOOD OFFER: Money back if your horse finishes second or third in today's 2.00 (Ts&C's apply)

2.35 – Neptune Investment Management Gordon Stakes (Group 3) Cl1 1m4f CH4

12/12 – Won between 1-3 times before
11/12 – Had run in the last 6 weeks
11/12 – Came from the top 3 in the betting
9/12 – Finished 1st or 2nd last time out
9/12 – Had won over at least 1m2f before
9/12 – Placed favourites
8/12 – Returned 4/1 or shorter in the betting
8/12 – Winning distance – neck or shorter
7/12 – Went onto run in the St Leger
6/12 – Won last time out
5/12 – Winning favourites
5/12 – Raced at Ascot last time out
4/12 – Trained by Sir Michael Stoute
3/12 – Ridden by Ryan Moore
2/12 – Trained by Jeremy Noseda
2/12 – Went onto win the St Leger
The average winning SP in the last 10 years is 10/3

VERDICT: The Sir Michael Stoute team have a great record in this race – winning it in 2008, 2009 and 2014. They send DISEGNO (Bet 11/2 with Paddy Power) to post this year so we’ll take a chance on him bouncing back to form. The horse has run some good races in defeat, most notably when a close third at Newmarket back in April to Golden Horn. That form as been more than franked since, while the horse should improve for the step up in trip. He does have a small bit to find on these terms with Highland Reel, but that horse has disappointed of late, so Medrano, who won well last time out, could be the main danger.

BET NOW – DISEGNO (e/w)

3.10 – Qipco Sussex Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) Cl1 1m CH4

14/14 – Finished 1st or 2nd last time out
12/14 – Returned 9/2 or shorter in the betting
12/14 – Won over 1m before
12/14 – Had won 4 or more times during their career
11/14 – Ran at Royal Ascot last time out
9/14 – Had 4 or more previous runs that season
9/14 – Has Won a Group One previously
8/14 – Winning favourites
8/14 – Aged 3 years-old
3/14 – Trained by Aidan O’Brien
3/14 – Aged 4 years-old
3/14 – Trained by Richard Hannon
2/14 – Ridden by Richard Hughes
The average winning SP in the last 10 years is 2/1

VERDICT: A cracking renewal in prospect here with Arod looking to take another step forward after winning his last two races in Group Two and Three company. This will be tougher for him though stepping up in grade against some proven top-class performers. Night of Thunder will be popular for the Hannon yard that took this in 2010 and 2013, but really th one to beat is the French raider – SOLOW (Bet here at 8/13 with 888Sport). This 5 year-old has won his last seven races, including last time out in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot. He’s the clear top-rated in the field and despite having never raced here at Goodwood there is no real reason to think he won’t handle it.

BET NOW – SOLOW

3.45 – Fairmont Molecomb Stakes (Group 3) Cl1 5f CH4

12/13 – Had won over 5f before
10/13 – Had won between 1-2 times before
10/13 – Had run within the last 4 weeks
10/13 – Returned 8/1 or shorter in the betting
9/13 – Finished in the top 2 last time out
9/13 – Winning distance – 1 lengths or less
8/13 – Foaled in either Feb or March
8/13 – Favourites that finished in the top 4
7/13 – Came from the top 3 in the betting
6/13 – Won last time out
4/13 – Winning favourites
3/13 – Trained by Richard Hannon
2/13 – Trained by Mick Channon
2/13 – Trained by William Haggas
2/13 – Ridden by Richard Hughes
The average winning SP in the last 10 years is 11/2

VERDICT: Another race the Hannon yard have a cracking record in – they’ve landed the spoils three times in the last six runnings. With that in mind it’s hard to get away from their KING OF ROOKS (Bet at 5/4 with William Hill). The horse was a beaten favourite in the Norfolk Stakes last time out, but this represents a drop in grade back down to Group Three company so is taken to get back to winning ways. His main danger will come from Aidan O’Brien’s Washington DC, who we last saw winning the Windsor Castle – but more is needed jumping up from Listed grade to Group class.

BET NOW – KING OF ROOKS
