Golf Betting Tips & Preview- The Puerto Rico Open 2014 – It's the return of @chrismunney this who is despertate to shake off his plethora of runner up finishes, he has 5 in the last 7 events!!  I'm backing him to break that run this week (particularly like the look of Stuard and Jones), what do you think?  Enjoy.

2 Tournaments this week. You can find previews for both here on this site. We will be covering the Puerto Rico Open in this preview. This tournament will be held at Trump International Golf Club in Rio Grande Puerto Rico. The tournament is one of the newer on TOUR and was first played in 2008, although, it has always been held at Trump National PR. This is a bit of a “minor league” tournament as the top 50 golfers in the world will be in Miami for a WGC event. Scott Brown won this tournament last year with a -20 (268) which is a tournament record. We can expect some low scores so we will want to look at golfers who are not only playing well, but also can go low.

Trump Puerto Rico is a 7500+ yard par 72 track. Anytime we have a par 72, par 5 scoring becomes much more important as the tournament is sometimes won on those 4 holes.

Winning gives a player a 2 year exemption on TOUR which is huge for some of the guys playing; however, no Masters invite. Players still will earn FedEx Cup points for this tournament along with a $630,000 purse for the winner.

Let’s look at some players with good chances to hoist the trophy this week:

Stroud is probably playing the best golf in the field so we'll ride the hot hand this week. He has played in this tournament 3 times and has improved his standing each year. Stroud can also grab a lot of birdies.

Stuard is another player playing great golf. Stuard has played here twice finishing 4th last year. He also has 3 top 10s this season. Stuard is also 22nd on TOUR in birdie average.

The wonder from down under. Jones was cut last week at the Honda but with a 68 on Friday I don't look too much into it. Jones is a great golfer looking for his first win on TOUR and it could very well come here in Puerto Rico. Jones finished 5th here in 2012 and 14th in 2013. Jones should be in contention on Sunday.

Vegas really impressed me last week. He is coming off a big injury and appears to be hungry to keep his card. If you followed golf in 2012, you know he burst onto TOUR and is a great golfer. He's made his last 5 cuts and I expect a good showing this week.

I am picking Karlsson based on his play at 2 tournaments where birdies were a plenty this year. That would be the Waste Management Open and the Humana Challenge. Karlsson finished 37th and 8th respectively. This course sets up nice for him with tons of birdie opportunities.
