Last year Carl Petterssen won here by five strokes over second place Zach Johnson. Petterssen finished with a score of -14/270 to capture his fifth PGA Tour victory. This is a 7100 yard par 71 with narrow tree lined fairways where accuracy off the tee will be paramount. This course is a mostly Bermuda grass course with tricky Bermuda grass greens, also placing an emphasis on good putting. Also known to have some of the smallest greens on tour with many well placed bunkers not mention water lurking near by we'll keep an eye on GIR and Proximity to hole stats.

This year Petterssen will be back to defend his title which won't be easy as an impressive line up of players will be on hand. Two time winner Boo Weekly who won here back to back in '07, '08 will be back to try his luck. Brian Gay who has a win this year and won here in '09 also holds the low tournament record here as he posted a -20/264 that year to win by a convincing ten stroke margin. 2010 and '11 winners Jim Furyk and Brandt Snedeker will also tee it up this week along with other notables Matt Kuchar, Luck Donald, Jason Day, Jason Dufner, Graeme McDowell. Also young 19 y/o phenom Jordan Spieth will play his fifth tournament in seven weeks on his special temporary membership.

To Win

Brandt Snedeker 14/1

Snedeker we know has won here before and will be seeking his second victory of 2013 this week. After an amazing run to start the year which saw him get a win and have four top five finishes in his first five starts was sidelined for three weeks due to a rib injury but has shown good form recently. Had a share of the 54 hole lead en route to a T6th at last weeks Masters. Brandt's game sets up well for this course and he should be looking to rebound after last weeks disappointing but solid finish at Augusta. Snedeker currently ranks 9th on tour in Driving Accuracy, 4th GIR, 11th Strokes Gained Putting, 1st Birdie Average, 4th Scrambling, 1st Third Round Scoring, 6th Final Round Scoring, 2nd Par 4 Performance.

Jim Furyk 18/1

Jim is another previous winner here and is in good form to contend once again this year. Winner in '11 Jim has made 7 of 9 cuts here since 2003 with the aforementioned win and five other top ten finishes. Finished T8 last year at this event  and coming off a T25 at the Masters. He is 8 for 8 in cuts made this season and has two top tens to show for it including T3 two weeks ago at the Valero Texas Open. Consistently one of the most accurate drivers on tour and a good iron player, if he can get his putter hot he will likely be the 2013 Champion of this event. His key stats for this event are not as impressive as Snedeker's but his course form makes up for it. In 2013 Furyk ranks 7th in Driving Accuracy, 27th Scoring, 2nd Proximity to Hole, 69th Total Putting.

Each Way

Boo Weekly  33/1

Boo has a solid history on this course and has been playing well recently. B2B winner in '07/'08 Boo has been playing well early on this year. Made his last 8 cuts in a row with two top tens including solo 2nd in Tampa Bay. Since his last win here in '08, Boo has made 4/4 cuts with three top 13's including a T6 last year. One of the tours best ball strikers, another good iron player, who if he can get his putter going will be tough to beat this week. Boo currently ranks 9th GIR, 7th Total Driving, 26th All Around, 55th Par 4 Performance and 45th Proximity to Hole.

Bill Haas 40/1

Bill has been playing great all year long and we'll look for his solid play to continue this week. Haas has made 9 of 10 cuts this season including his last nine in a row and has five top ten finishes highlighted by a T3 at the NTO. Coming off a T20 at Augusta. Bill has been one of the tours most consistent players this season ranking 1st in top ten finishes and will be seeking his first win of the season at Harbour Town. We'll be giving Bill the benifit of the doubt as he has not had tremendous success at this course. He's missed 4 of last 7 cuts since '06 and has never finished better than T27 in '06. Bill is a good iron player and uses good with course management. Look for him to grind his way through the week under the radar and show up in contention on Sunday. Bill currently ranks 8th GIR, 34th All Around, 12th Scrambling, 34th Ball Striking, 4th Par 4 Performance.

Tim Clark 55/1

Tim has been playing well this season and is on an up tick. Has made his last 4 cuts at Harbour Town and has been playing well all season. Has made 6/9 cuts with two top tens and is coming off a T11 at Augusta. He took solo second early in the year at the Sony in Hawaii with a scorecard that looked like this 64,66,66,63. Tim is accurate off the tee and decent with the putter look for Tim to grind his way into contention this week. Currently ranks 5th Driving Accuracy, 30th Total Putting, 27th Proximity to Hole, 39th Par 4 Performance.

Brian Stuard  125/1

Wow, great value here on Brian. Solid player who has made 7 of 8 cuts this year and has three top tens, most recently T4 in Puerto Rico. Only one appearance here in 2010 he mc but is trending up and should have a good week. Brian is a good ball striker, accurate off the tee, a good iron player and can putt! See him being right in this thing all week long and could very well kiss the trophy on Sunday. Brian currently ranks 30th Driving Accuracy, 16th SGP, 11th Scoring, 23rd Scrambling, 18th Total Putting, 2nd Par 3 performance, 11th Proximity to Hole. Should be fresh and rested with no "Masters hangover" hasn't played since his only missed cut of the year at the Houston Open three weeks ago.
