3.10 Goodwood

All the pre-race talk has been about Estimate versus Brown Panther but I am rather hopeful that the eight-year-old CAVALRYMAN (5/1 SkyBet) can spoil their party.  His rating of 115 makes him the one to beat and he showed something like his best form when winning at Newmarket last time out.  Although I would be more confident were he reunited with Silvestre De Sousa, Kieren Fallon is a great jockey and this horse looks to have every chance.   

3.45 Goodwood

John Gosden has an embarrassment of riches at his Newmarket yard with any number of top class fillies to call upon in this contest so its noteworthy that he will be relying on maiden winner STELLA BELLISSSIMA (7/1 William Hill).  Hopelessly outclassed on all known form, it seems fair to assume that she has been showing plenty on the gallops of late and with the trainer’s backing she is certainly worth an each-way inclusion.  

4.20 Goodwood

Every bet comes with a risk attached for all the obvious reasons and this one is no different as the un-raced daughter of Shamardal – WORLD FAIR (14/1 William Hill) could be anything, or nothing of course!  Word from Newmarket’s hostelries suggests that she may well be just about the best of the Godolphin juvenile fillies at this stage of the season and there have been plenty of reports of sparkling gallops. Hopefully she will be able to show her best on the track and run a solid race.
