Officially the highest rated horse in the race is the Robert Cowell trained – Zain Eagle (8/1 bet365), who hasn’t been seen since a beaten favourite back in November.  He looked a potentially smart prospect last year, but seemed better over a shorter distance, which is where his best results came from.  His two latest runs over this distance were slightly disappointing with him hanging left when coming under pressure.  Despite being the highest rated runner in the field, he will have to overcome his persistent tendency to drift under pressure and could well struggle to do so.

The Joseph Tuite trained PRESBURG (10/1 William Hill) has won over 12 furlongs at this track, and was a 10 furlong winner last timeout at Windsor, so the trip should not be a problem.  He’s a versatile type with a huge number of runs under his belt.  He showed some promise last time out and if he builds on that run then he’s in with a shout.  Jockey Oisin Murphy is two from three on board and the return to the all-weather track should give him solid each-way claims.

Although Magic Hurricane (5/1 SkyBet) is still a maiden he is a progressive type who should give a very good account going up in trip.  He has seemed one paced in a couple of his runs, so the extra furlong looks to suit.  Trainer James Fanshawe does well at the track, and has clearly looked after this lightly raced four year-old.  He’s shown potential and, if suited by this distance, will be one to note.

Economy (10/3 William Hill) has shown some useful form, and should fare better now that he’s sent handicapping.  His only two runs have been over 12 furlongs, so this is slight shorter, and should suit going on his duels in both starts. After finishing second at Lingfield in July, he was put away until coming out and winning here last month, battling on gamely to just hold on.  He’s an interesting contender for connections who know what they’re doing.

Luca Cumani’s Jazz Master (4/1 Coral) is a dual C&D winner and, with thirteen runs under his belt, has run here on six occasions.  Last time out he finished second to the impressive Arab Spring.  He seems to like this course, showed good form last time out, and is an interesting contender.

Since coming over to the UK a couple of years ago, Azrag (25/1 Coral) has won solely at Wolverhampton, but has been effective here at Kempton.  Untested over this trip, this is his first run since October and looks to have a bit to prove.
