Horse racing Lucky 15 tips for the action at Huntingdon on Thursday 5th February.
With the weather blighting a lot of the recent racing action, today’s card at Huntingdon has survived the adverse conditions and promises a great day’s racing. Here is a Lucky 15 horse racing tip to get involved with.
Thursday’s Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
It seems reasonable to say that stepping up in trip was a sensible move for NORDIC NYMPH (NAP) (2/1 Paddy Power) who was a maiden after three hurdle races over 2m or so – but has won both races since by an easy three and three quarter lengths at Bangor and then running away by 15 lengths at Exeter, both races over about 3m. He steps-up again this afternoon to three and a quarter miles but he does seem to be improving all the time and is clearly the one to beat.
FORTHEFUNOFIT (15/8 Coral), a six-year-old son of the excellent sire Flemensfirth, is clearly difficult to train having won his novice hurdle at Catterick in December 2013 and then absent until his latest third place effort in a decent handicap at Cheltenham. Put up only two pounds for that effort, he has had over three months to recover and, if fit enough (the big question), could well have got in here under the handicapper’s radar.
By now you all know that I am a big fan of trainer John Ferguson though of late, he has had more losers than I would like to see. ARABIAN REVOLUTION (7/4 William Hill) won on his first attempt over hurdles at Sandown and then finished an acceptable second to surprise package Beltor at Ludlow, and will hopefully have learnt from that race. He gets four pounds here from Chatez who could be his most serious rival but the selection ought to run well if he can keep those enthusiasm levels going.
We end with a bumper and, whilst Alan King and David Pipe both field newcomers, I will be watching the Conrad Allen trained Primrose Brown with interest as the likeable trainer gave me my big start in this game all those years ago. On form however, I will side with RUBY RAMBLER (9/4 William Hill) who represents Lucy Wadham and will be ridden by Leighton Aspell. A son of Notnowcato, he was unfancied on his debut at Ludlow when running a blinder in third beaten two lengths, running on strongly over the mile and three quarters and looking sure to lap up the two miles he faces here this afternoon.
