HP Byron Nelson Championship 2014- Golf Betting Tips & Preview

What a way to win by Kaymer last week. While we backed both Furyk and Sergio, you can never be too satisfied without the win. But a nice e/w place from Furyk allowed us to leave Sawgrass profitable, and that’s important. This week the PGA TOUR makes its’ way to Irving, Texas this week for the annual HP Byron Nelson Championship. The tournament will be played at a TPC course for the 2nd week in a row, this time at the TPC Four Seasons, just outside of dallas.

This tournament has been held here since 1995 but 2 courses were used at that time for the 4 day event. In 2008, tournament organizers moved the course exclusively to the TPC Four Seasons.

The TPC Four Season is a par 70 layout designed by Jay Morrish, Byron Nelson, and Ben Crenshaw. The course stretches just under 7,200 yards. The players can expect to find mesquite trees, plenty of bunkers, and large undulating greens. This will be a true test for players as you can see by the winning scores and past champions below.

As you can see there are some major winners in the field and others with some serious game. The winning scores aren’t too low and a lot will depend on the wind as always in the great state of Texas. Ball striking is very important as there aren’t a lot of par 5’s to take advantage of. Putting is always of great importance but even a little more so this week with the large rolling greens. A lot of players take this week off seeing that almost every top player played last week but there are still some big names in the field including Spieth, Kucher, Kaymer, and Dustin Johnson.
