Leeds United v Birmingham City Football Betting Tips

The early kick off Sunday is held at Elland Road as Leeds host underwhelming Birmingham City in a mid-table clash between two previous Premier League titans. Both teams haven’t had the best of starts to the season with Leeds sitting in 14th, whilst Birmingham hovering dangerously above the relegation zone in 19th, with only a four point cushion.

Leeds start as 5/4 favourites to win the match, Birmingham can be backed at 12/5, whilst the draw is available at 5/2. All odds quoted are available with Betfred.

Birmingham haven’t been able to push on from their incredible 2011 Carling Cup success to even challenge for promotion over the next two years, disappointingly finishing below expectations and losing key players in the process. Leeds on the other hand always look to threaten teams for a potentially play-off spot, but the inconsistency throughout the team and also board, shows us that it won’t be anytime soon before we see them challenge with the Premier Leagues elite.

This game will be a feisty affair between two teams trying to get their season back on track. Birmingham make the 119 mile road trip with the good news that wonder kid Jesse Lingard will be extending his loan until mid-December after a great start to life at St Andrews, hitting four goals in his first game. Lingard is obviously Birmingham’s main threat and I can see him adding to his already good tally in this game, he is best price 2/1 to score anytime with Winner. Leeds most dangerous looking player this year has to be Scotland striker Ross McCormack. McCormack for a few years has been an obvious talent starting his English league career at Cardiff and moving to Leeds in 2010. With four goals this season it’s obvious to make claims that he can add to his tally in this game.

That being said my next bet would have to be a Leeds win. I feel Leeds will do all they can to get this victory to give them something to work on for the remainder of the season as settling for another mid table finish wouldn’t be at the fans greatest pleasure. A 3-1 win for Leeds priced at 16/1 with Winner looks well worth chancing.
