Monday’s Horse Racing Tips

The start of a new week and there is plenty more horse racing today, with racing fixtures from Ayr and Cartmel in the afternoon, while Windsor and Wolverhampton provide the evening action.

Our resident horse racing betting expert, Andy Newton, is on hand with today’s free horse racing tips this Monday (20^h July) across the cards.

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Ayr Tips –

3.05 – Ayr – A few horses better fancied in the betting, but it’s interesting that the David O’Meara team run two here. The yard have a healthy 21% record with their runners here so their entries RURAL CELEBRATION (Bet at 12/1 with William Hill) and PEARL BLUE (Bet at 10/1 with Bet365) could both be worth an interest. Both are previous distance winners over this 5f trip and are both off fairly decent-looking marks. At around 10/1 we’ll be having a small e/w investment in them both.

4.40 – Ayr – William Haggas doesn’t send many up north to Ayr so the ones he does should be noted. A decent pot up for grabs here despite it being a Monday and so his runner – HOMAGE (Bet at 3/1 with 888Sport) – is the call. Pulled out of the John Smith’s Cup a few weeks ago connections looks to have found an easier race here. Trip, track and ground look ideal and despite looking a competitive affair and having top-weight he’s the one to beat for us.

Cartmel Tips –

2.45 – Cartmel – The Mark McNiff team have a great strike-rate with their runners they bring over from Ireland here at the course, so URBAN DUSK (Bet at 9/4 with Skybet) could be the answer here. The horse was a nice winner at Sligo last time out so come here in tip-top order. Yes, 12-1 won’t be easy to lump round but they take off a further 5lbs with the jockey’s claim – trip and ground look perfect too. Expected to go close.

Beverley Tips –

7.40 – Beverley – BET NOW – The Ollie Pears team took this race 12 months ago and look to have a great chance of doing so again. The yard have their horses in flying form (3 from last 8 have won) too. They send UNNOTICED (Bet at 6/1 with SkyBet) to post, a horse that was an excellent second last time out here and off just a few pounds higher looks to be coming to the boil.

Windsor Tips –

6.50 – Windsor – Roger Charlton has his horses in fine fettle at the moment so his runner ATAMAN (Bet at 11/4 with Ladbrokes) is the pick here. Second on his two starts to date, including one here on debut over this course and distance. The horse will have the experience edge over a lot of these and with track knowledge too should go close.

8.20 – Windsor – Second last time out at Salisbury but SWEET SELECTION (Bet at 7/2 with Betfred) gets in here off the same mark. Yes a tough-looking race but the horse won well the time before at Goodwood and with a 6 week break will come here freshened up. The step up in trip will suit after a stop-start race last time – Jim Crowley rides.
