Chelsea have now won three in a row and if they can maintain this form with a win against Newcastle, the media might have to find another club to denounce as in crisis. However, despite their return to form, controversy is never far away when Chelsea are concerned.

The ludicrously angry Spaniard Diego Costa could have been sent off more than once against The Gunners, and quite rightly received a ban after the FA decided to charge him after the match. The Newcastle defence will be glad they won't have to face Costa’s aggressive tendencies, but either Loic Remy or Radamel Falcao look set to deputise for the suspended Spanish International.

Newcastle have had an even worse start to the season than Chelsea, but it's no more than you'd expect from the Geordies who seem to be in a perpetual state of crisis. Only their North East rivals Sunderland have had a worse start to the season.

Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup, the Magpies are well in their way to another failed season.

The last thing Steve McLaren needs is a visit from the English champions.

Given their form of late, Chelsea are clear favourites for the match. Newcastle have lost their last 3 at home and this poor run is not going to end against an improving Chelsea side.
