The 3-4 Tennessee Titans travel to the 3-5 St. Louis Rams for a 1 pm game on Sunday.

This is a big game for the Titans as they come in at 3-4, and need to win this game to stay in playoff contention. For the Rams, their playoff chances are all but finished as starting quarterback Sam Bradford is out for the rest of the season with an injury. This is the perfect time for Tennessee to get back on track because they have had extra time to rest and prepare for the Rams backup quarterback, Kellen Clemens. Over the last 13 seasons, road favorites coming off a bye week are 45-13 Against the Spread. Not only is this a good situation for Tennessee, but a bad situation for St. Louis, having played on Monday Night Football and therefore, with one less day to prepare than usual. Although the Rams played well on Monday Night Football, I don’t expect that to continue. Monday Night was the biggest game of their season playing at home against a division opponent on Monday Night Football.

The extra rest time should aid Titans starting quarterback Jake Locker, who missed two games before returning in the teams loss to San Francisco two weeks ago.

I expect the Titans starting Running Back, Chris Johnson, to have a big game. Johnson is more of a finesse running back who will thrive on the artificial surface inside the dome that the Rams play in.  During this week Johnson said that he likes playing on a fast surface. He also said that he enjoys playing against a 4-3 defense (4 lineman and 3 linebackers) as opposed to a 3-4 because it is less confusing. Luckily for him, the Rams have a 4-3 defense and are very mediocre against the run, ranking 22^nd in the league.

Finally, many of the Titans players will have extra motivation for this game because the Rams head coach, Jeff Fisher, is the former Titans head coach and drafted many of the Titans current players, and every player wants to have a good showing when playing against a former coach.
