Norwich v Everton Betting Tips

After a solid start to the season, Alex Neil’s Norwich team have really suffered a drop in form and now find themselves languishing in 16^th place, and only safe from the relegation zone on goal difference. With Everton unbeaten in five league games, Norwich have a real task on their hands if they want to get anything from this match.

This season, as well as last, Roberto Martinez has not seen his Everton team producing the dazzling form that won so many plaudits in his debut season on Merseyside. The Toffees went from beating the big boys to struggling against everybody, and their confidence as a team has not been assured for at least a year now.

However, a win over Middlesbrough in the League Cup Quarter Final booked their place in the Semis, and a match up with Man City. Should Everton go on to win the competition, it would surely spur them on to recapture the form they showed when Martinez first took over at the club.

The Merseysiders are unbeaten in five in the League, but will have been mightily disappointed with the draw against struggling Bournemouth. After Ross Barkley netted what seemed like the winner deep into injury time, their whole team switched off and allowed the South coast side to score an equaliser in the seventh minute of additional time.

Draws against West Ham and Crystal Palace were about par for Everton, whereas emphatic wins against Aston Villa and Sunderland were to be expected. Norwich are struggling, and you'd have to put them hem in the category of ‘should beat’ for a decent Everton team.

Norwich’s recent form has been pretty abysmal, and they have mustered only 4 points from a possible 24. Alex Neil will have been expected a tough ride in his debut season in the top flight, and now is the time for The Canaries to show what they're made of.

Solid starts are a common feature for newly promoted sides, with the enthusiasm and confidence of being able to win at will in the Championship. However, after a few months of reality in the Premiership, confidence starts to wane and results start to go awry. Reality has struck for Norwich, and it's safe to say that The Canaries are now firmly mired in a relegation battle.

The only glimmers of hope in Norwich’s recent form have been a battling 1-1 draw at home to second places Arsenal, as well as a win against fellow strugglers Swansea. Aside from these results, they managed to lose all the rest.

Based on current form, I can't see Norwich grabbing all the points in Saturday’s early kick off. I think the best they can hope for is a point against Everton. However, The Toffees are on the up and will make life extremely difficult for the home side.
